Michael L. Gambino (born July 9, 1977) is an American baseball coach and former infielder, who is the current head baseball coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions. [1] Prior to accepting the head coaching position at Penn State, he served as an assistant and head coach at Boston College, a position he held for 12 years. He scouted for the Detroit Tigers, and served as an assistant at Virginia Tech. [2]
Gambino played college baseball at Boston College from 1997–2000. In 1998, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Orleans Cardinals of the Cape Cod Baseball League. [3] In June 2000, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Boston Red Sox and played two seasons of minor league baseball in their system. [4] [5]

Edward Nelson Sprague Jr. is an American former Major League Baseball third baseman. He played 11 seasons in the major leagues from 1991 to 2001, with six different teams. He later served as the head baseball coach of the NCAA's Pacific Tigers for 12 seasons, from 2004 to 2015. He is now the Oakland Athletics Director of Player Development.
The Yarmouth–Dennis Red Sox, or Y-D Red Sox, are a collegiate summer baseball team based in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's East Division. The Red Sox play their home games at Red Wilson Field on the campus of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.
Jeffrey Matthew Duncan is an American baseball coach and former Major League Baseball outfielder for the New York Mets. He is the head baseball coach at Kent State University. Duncan played college baseball at Iowa State University in 1998 before transferring to Arizona State University from 1999 to 2000 to play for coach Pat Murphy. After a standout college career, he would be drafted in the 7th round in 2000 by the New York Mets. He then played in the Major Leagues for the New York Mets in 2003 and 2004. Duncan also played in the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Toronto Blue-Jays organizations. He hit and threw left-handed.
Jason Robert Beverlin is an American baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current pitching coach of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. He played college baseball at Western Carolina as well as in Major League Baseball (MLB) and Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He played one season in the United States and three seasons in Japan. He also served as the head coach of Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (2012–2017).

In 2014, Wine managed the Eugene Emeralds, a minor league team in the San Diego Padres organization.

The 2018 NCAA Division I Baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began in February 2018. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2018 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and 2018 College World Series. The College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament and held annually in Omaha, Nebraska, at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, ended on June 28, 2018.
