Michael Anthony Magnante ( /məɡˈnænti/ ;Italian pronunciation: [maɲˈɲante] ; born June 17, 1965) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played 12 seasons in Major League Baseball as a left-handed relief pitcher for four teams.
On August 22, 1997, Magnante pitched an immaculate inning by striking out three batters on nine pitches in the ninth inning of a 6–3 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Magnante became the 20th National League pitcher and the 29th pitcher in major league history to accomplish the feat.
In 2002, the Oakland Athletics released Magnante four days before reaching 10 years of MLB service time and fully vesting his pension, because of the acquisition of Ricardo Rincón. [1] [2] This moment is depicted in the film Moneyball . As of 2020, he is a math teacher at Agoura High School. [3] [4]
Vida Rochelle Blue Jr. was an American professional baseball player. He was a left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball from 1969 to 1986, most notably as an integral member of the Oakland Athletics dynasty that won three consecutive World Series championships from 1972 to 1974. He won the American League (AL) Cy Young Award and Most Valuable Player Award in 1971.
Timothy Adam Hudson, nicknamed "Huddy", is an American former professional baseball pitcher of Major League Baseball (MLB). After spending his college years at Chattahoochee Valley Community College and Auburn University, Hudson played in the major leagues for the Oakland Athletics (1999–2004), the Atlanta Braves (2005–13), and the San Francisco Giants (2014–15). With the Giants, he won the 2014 World Series over the Kansas City Royals. He is now the varsity head coach for the Lee-Scott Academy baseball team, located in Auburn, Alabama.

Robert Lynn Welch was an American professional baseball starting pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Dodgers (1978–87) and Oakland Athletics (1988–94). Prior to his professional career, he attended Eastern Michigan University, where he played college baseball for the Eastern Michigan Hurons baseball team. Seth Antonio Martinez is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). From Sierra Vista, Arizona, Martinez attended Arizona State University and played college baseball for the Sun Devils. The Oakland Athletics selected Martinez in the 17th round of the 2016 MLB draft. Martinez remained in the Oakland organization until the Astros selected him in the 2020 Rule 5 draft, and he made his MLB debut in 2021.
