A chain gang is a system of labor that involves groups of prisoners chained together doing menial labor.
"Moonage Daydream" is a song by English singer-songwriter David Bowie. It was originally recorded in February 1971 at Radio Luxembourg's studios in London and released as a single by his short-lived band Arnold Corns in May 1971 on B&C Records. Bowie subsequently re-recorded the song later that year with his backing band the Spiders from Mars—comprising Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Mick Woodmansey—for release on his 1972 album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The re-recording was co-produced by Ken Scott and recorded at Trident Studios in London in November 1971. The re-recording is a glam rock song that uses melodic and harmonic hooks, as well as percussion and guitar influenced by heavy metal. On the album, the song directly introduces the character Ziggy Stardust, who describes himself as a bisexual alien rock superstar who will save the Earth from the impending disaster described in the opening track "Five Years". It features saxophone played by Bowie and a guitar solo and string arrangement by Ronson.
Fancy Footwork is the second studio album by Canadian electro-funk duo Chromeo, released on May 8, 2007 by Turbo Recordings and Last Gang Records. The album spawned three singles: "Fancy Footwork", "Tenderoni", and "Bonafied Lovin". In the United States, Fancy Footwork reached number eleven on the Top Electronic Albums chart and number twenty-five on the Top Heatseekers chart.
The Chain Gang of 1974 is the indietronica project of American musician and DJ, Kamtin Mohager. "The Chain Gang of 1974" can also be in reference to Kamtin Mohager himself. Mohager was raised in Hawaii and Colorado, and currently lives in Los Angeles, California. He formed the grunge band Heavenward in 2020.
Canadian singer and songwriter Lights has released five studio albums, two acoustic albums, seven extended plays, 27 singles, and 25 music videos. Lights began her career as a songwriter, penning songs for the television series Instant Star. She released a self-titled EP in 2008 on the independent record label Underground Operations. Two singles, "Drive My Soul" and "February Air", were released from the EP: "Drive My Soul" reached number 18 on the Canadian singles chart and was certified gold by Music Canada (MC).
"Apple of Sodom" is a song by American rock band Marilyn Manson. The track was recorded for the soundtrack to David Lynch's 1997 film Lost Highway. It was written by the band's eponymous vocalist and produced by Manson with Sean Beavan. Lynch personally chose the band to contribute music to the soundtrack as he found Manson inspiring, and because of the band's commercial viability. An industrial song about obsession, "Apple of Sodom" was named after the eponymous fruit, and was inspired by Manson's feelings about singer Fiona Apple. The song was followed by multiple collaborations between Manson and Lynch.
"Underneath the Stars" is a song by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey. The song was written and produced by Carey and Walter Afanasieff, for her fifth studio album, Daydream (1995). It was released on November 19, 1996, through Columbia Records, as the sixth and final single from the album and as a B-side to "Forever" in Australia. The R&B-influenced song, which has been considered by Carey as one of her personal favorites, features a soft and retro-style melody and had music critics drawing comparisons to earlier works from Minnie Riperton, one of Carey's vocal inspirations.
"Hearts Like Ours" is the first single from In Rolling Waves, the second studio album from New Zealand post-punk revival band The Naked and Famous. The song, which is also the sixth single from the ensemble, premiered 23 July 2013 on BBC Radio 1 as Zane Lowe’s “Hottest Record in the World Today”. The video was released on YouTube on 29 July 2013.
"Computer City" is a song recorded by Japanese girl group Perfume for their first greatest hits compilation, Perfume: Complete Best (2006). It was written, composed, arranged, and produced by Japanese musician and Capsule member Yasutaka Nakata. The single also included the B-side track "Perfume", which appeared on the parent album. It premiered on January 11, 2006 as the second single from the album in Japan. It was also released on June 19, 2013 through European and Oceanic regions, and June 25 in North America. Musically, "Computer City" is a technopop song, influenced by electronic music.

Records, it is the major label debut of The Chain Gang of 1974, whose previous records were released under indie label Modern Art Records. The album is a follow-up to the project's 2013 single "Miko", which features as the fifth track on the album, and successful promotional single "Sleepwalking", which also features on the album, as the third track.
"Sleepwalking" is a song by American electronic rock group The Chain Gang of 1974. It was written by the group's frontman Kamtin Mohager along with James Bailey, Rami Jrade and Ryan Ogren. The song was originally recorded by Mohager for his third studio album, Daydream Forever, where it appears as the third track. "Sleepwalking" was first released as a remixed version of the Daydream Forever track, included on the 2013 soundtrack-compilation album The Music of Grand Theft Auto V, where it appeared as the closing track on the first "volume" of the album.
"Leave It Alone" is a song written by James Mercer and Brian Burton of the American alternative rock band Broken Bells. It was originally recorded by the band for their second studio album, After the Disco, where it appears as the fourth track on the album. A "Leave It Alone" promotional single was released for streaming on the Australian branch of commercial music streaming service Spotify on February 4, 2014, becoming the fourth release by the band in promotion of After the Disco, after singles "Holding on for Life", "After the Disco" and promotional single "Perfect World". The song can be found in the soundtrack of the movie Miss You Already starring Toni Collette and Drew Barrymore. The song is a playable track in the music video game Guitar Hero Live.
"Fighter" is a song recorded by Japanese singer Namie Amuro, released as a double A-side single with "Dear Diary". It was released on October 26, 2016 via Dimension Point and Avex Trax in two CD formats, and a DVD package; a digital release was made available for consumption on November 16. The single serves as the insert song to the Japanese drama–horror film Death Note: Light Up the New World, and the theme song to its accompanying spin-off series Death Note: New Generation (2016). "Fighter" was written, composed and produced by Japanese vocalist Emyli, with additional production credits to Reason.
Felt is a studio album by the American musician Kamtin Mohager, released under his indietronica name, The Chain Gang of 1974. The fourth studio album by The Chain Gang of 1974, it was the second album released under a major label on June 23, 2017, by the Virgin Records subsidiary Caroline Records. The album, described by Mohager as the most "honest" album he has created, represents a change of the Chain Gang's sound to a more pop-centric approach, detailing the personal experiences of Mohager and "the feelings of [his] past". The album's sound is the result of Mohager being exposed to new sounds during his time writing songs outside of the Chain Gang, in the years following the successful Daydream Forever. The album was produced by Thom Powers of The Naked and Famous, and has a guest appearance by the band's lead singer, Alisa Xayalith. Powers befriended Mohager after years of touring together, and became involved in the production of Felt early on. The album's release was preceded by live performances by the Chain Gang and the release of three tracks from the album as singles and extended plays in 2016 and 2017. On release, the album was met with positive reviews.
