"Sleepwalking" is a song by American electronic rock group The Chain Gang of 1974. It was written by the group's frontman Kamtin Mohager along with James Bailey, Rami Jrade and Ryan Ogren. The song was originally recorded by Mohager for his third studio album, Daydream Forever , where it appears as the third track. "Sleepwalking" was first released as a remixed version of the Daydream Forever track, included on the 2013 soundtrack-compilation album The Music of Grand Theft Auto V , [1] where it appeared as the closing track on the first "volume" of the album.

A "Sleepwalking" promotional single, featuring the Daydream Forever track of the same name, was released by Warner Bros. Records to US Modern rock radio on February 4, 2014, serving as the second release by Mohager in promotion of Daydream Forever, following the 2013 single, "Miko". [2] A later "Sleepwalking" single was released in the United States by Warner Bros. on March 18, 2014. The three-track single features "Sleepwalking" and acoustic "Daydreamer" versions of Daydream Forever tracks "You" and "Sleepwalking".

Usage in media

In addition to featuring on The Music of Grand Theft Auto V , the track was heavily used in-game and in promotional media for the 2013 Rockstar North open world action-adventure video game Grand Theft Auto V . The track was used in the official trailer for the game, and in various television commercials and spots promoting the game.

Development of <i>Grand Theft Auto V</i> Development of 2013 video game

A team of approximately 1,000 people developed Grand Theft Auto V over several years. Rockstar Games released the action-adventure game in September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, in November 2014 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in April 2015 for Windows, and in March 2022 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The first main Grand Theft Auto series entry since Grand Theft Auto IV, its development was led by Rockstar North's core 360-person team, who collaborated with several other international Rockstar studios. The team considered the game a spiritual successor to many of their previous projects like Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3. After its unexpected announcement in 2011, the game was fervently promoted with press showings, cinematic trailers, viral marketing strategies and special editions. Its release date, though subject to several delays, was widely anticipated.

In collaboration with each other, the musicians produced over twenty hours of music which scores the game's missions. Felt is a studio album by the American musician Kamtin Mohager, released under his indietronica name, The Chain Gang of 1974. The fourth studio album by The Chain Gang of 1974, it was the second album released under a major label on June 23, 2017, by the Virgin Records subsidiary Caroline Records. The album, described by Mohager as the most "honest" album he has created, represents a change of the Chain Gang's sound to a more pop-centric approach, detailing the personal experiences of Mohager and "the feelings of [his] past". The album's sound is the result of Mohager being exposed to new sounds during his time writing songs outside of the Chain Gang, in the years following the successful Daydream Forever. The album was produced by Thom Powers of The Naked and Famous, and has a guest appearance by the band's lead singer, Alisa Xayalith. Powers befriended Mohager after years of touring together, and became involved in the production of Felt early on. The album's release was preceded by live performances by the Chain Gang and the release of three tracks from the album as singles and extended plays in 2016 and 2017. On release, the album was met with positive reviews.
