Milestone is an unincorporated community in Lancaster County in the U. S. state of Virginia. [1] Milestone is situated in the Northern Neck region of Virginia. It lies along Mary Ball Road, between Lancaster and Brook Vale. Mary Ball Road is named after Mary Ball Washington, the mother of George Washington, who was born in Lancaster County.
The Hickory Hollow Natural Area Preserve, a 525 acres (212 ha) conservation site known for its rare plants and diverse wildlife habitat, is just to the north of Milestone along Regina Road. [2] [3]
