The Military Engineer Services is a Government Organisation in Bangladesh which is responsible for Military Infrastructure Development, Maintain and preservation of there creation. As the Public Works Department (PWD) of Bangladesh serves the public, this organisation only serves the Bangladesh Armed Forces. Major General Hasan Uz Zaman is the current E in C. After the independence of India and Pakistan the name changed to Military Engineer Services East Pakistan. But the headquarters of the organisation was in the West Pakistan. After the independence of Bangladesh the name currently changed to Military Engineer Services Bangladesh and it started to serve the Bangladesh Armed Forces since 1975.
Major General Fazlur Rahman Al Mamun is the first E in C of Military Engineer Services of Bangladesh.
All Cantonments, DOHS, , Military Hospitals, Office and residential area which is under the Bangladesh Armed Forces is under control for development by the Military Engineer Services. This places are build develop and secured by the organisation. 12 Cadet Colleges of Bangladesh were also build and developed by this organisation.
This organisation 24/7 hours give services to the Military personals. It is also responsible to provide electricity, gas, water, building and bathroom accessories, military infrastructure development and demolish secure environment to live etc and many more. This organisation got many respect from other organisations for there outstanding performance in work.
Every year a huge amount recruitment is published by the Ministry of Defence. This recruitment is controlled and secured by the Bangladesh Army.
The Military Engineer Services of Bangladesh is a Government Organisation. So the job of this organisation is also government.
Many Army personals thinks that Military Engineer Services is nothing to the Cantonment and to the Army. By this rumors the E in C said "Bangladesh Army is for the people for the country, though The Military Engineer Services is for the Army."
This organisation is responsible for the construction and maintenance of all cantonments, , organizations in Bangladesh. MES has a role in the construction of major projects of Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force. Some of these projects are mentioned below:
The Bangladesh Armed Forces are the military forces of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. They consist of the three uniformed military services: the Bangladesh Army, the Bangladesh Navy, and the Bangladesh Air Force. The Armed Forces are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defence of the Government of Bangladesh, and are directly administered by the Armed Forces Division of the Prime Minister's Office. The President of Bangladesh serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. Bangladesh has the third-largest defence budget in South Asia. The Bangladeshi military is the 37th strongest in the world and the third most powerful military force in South Asia. Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Coast Guard are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs during peacetime, but during wartime, they fall under the command of the Bangladesh Army and the Bangladesh Navy, respectively.
The Bangladesh Army is the land warfare branch, and the largest component of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The primary mission of the Army is to defend the land of Bangladesh from any external attack. Control of personnel and operations is administered by the Army Headquarters, Dhaka Cantonment. The Bangladesh Army is also constitutionally obligated to assist the government, during times of domestic national emergency e.g. the army helps people during any natural calamity. This additional role is commonly referred to as "aid to civil administration" or, using the Latin form, "Protectio, Transparentia, Reintegratio", in others words, "Protect and Serve".
Dhaka Cantonment is a cantonment located in the northern part of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The headquarters of the Bangladesh Army and Air Force are situated within the cantonment. The cantonment is located on the north-east end of Dhaka.
Martyred Intellectuals Memorial is a monument built in memory of the martyred intellectuals of the Bangladesh Liberation War. The memorial is located at Rayerbazar, Mohammadpur Thana in Dhaka. The memorial was designed by architect Farid U Ahmed and Jami Al Shafi. The initial proposal for a memorial at Rayer Bazar was brought forward by Projonmo 71, who also laid a temporary foundation stone in 1991.
Mirpur is a thana of Dhaka city, Bangladesh. It is bounded by Pallabi Thana to the north, Mohammadpur Thana to the south, Kafrul to the east, and Savar Upazila to the west. The Bangladesh University of Professionals is a public university in Mirpur Cantonment of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. Established on 05 June 2008, it is controlled by the Bangladesh Armed Forces and is affiliated with University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC).
1971 Dhaka University massacre was the mass murder of students and faculty at the University of Dhaka in East Pakistan by the Pakistan Army, at the beginning of what would become the Bangladesh War of Independence. In March 1971, the Pakistan Army Eastern Wing Commander Tikka Khan launched Operation Searchlight on the orders of Yahya Khan to crush the Bengali nationalist movement. As part of the operation, the army launched an assault on the university campus. It is the deadliest attack on a university in history.
