Cheung is known for his technically skilled vocals, lengthy tours, multimillion-selling album The Goodbye Kiss and his personal Private Corner album project, for which he coined the phrase 'Canto-jazz’. His successful music and acting career has made Cheung one of Hong Kong's icons. He was elected by Time Magazine as one of the "25 most influential people in the New Hong Kong".

Grace & Charm is Hong Kong Cantopop singer Kelly Chen's Cantonese studio album. It was released on 22 December 2004 by Go East Entertainment with a VCD containing two music videos, "紙醉金迷" and "情人戰". The album features nine new Cantonese tracks and a Mandarin version of the track "完美關係". The lead single of the album, "紙醉金迷" was the theme song for Chen's Lost In Paradise Live Concert Tour on 24 December 2004 at Hong Kong Coliseum. Several songs from the album were used in promotional campaigns: "情人戰" was the theme song for Asia Game Show in 2004, and "完美關係" was the promotional song for Hong Kong-based jeweler 3D Gold for which Chen is also the spokesperson.

In 1982, the television station RTHK awarded one of her songs, "Feelings of a Passage" (感情的段落), later heard from her 1983 self-titled debut album, as one of top ten gold songs of 1981–82. In 1983, Lam sang a radio hit Cantonese rendition of the well-known Mandarin song "Into Your Eyes" (你的眼神), originally sung in 1981 by Tsai Chin, for her debut album. In 1984–85, another of her songs, "ngau yu" (偶遇), a theme song for the 1984 film A Certain Romance (少女日記), was awarded as one of top ten gold songs of 1983–84 by RTHK, the seventh place of the Jade Solid Gold Best Ten Music Awards by another station TVB, and the Hong Kong Film Award for the Best Movie Song (最佳電影歌曲) of 1984. Lam sang also "ouyu" (偶遇), a Mandarin version of "ngau yu", for the titled 1984 album. Since then, later singers have rendered both versions of "ngau yu", like Sammi Cheng and Zhou Xun.
