Minas is the seventh studio album by Brazilian singer-songwriter Milton Nascimento, released in 1975 through Odeon Records. The album was recorded in October 1975 in Rio de Janeiro. [3] The title of the album originates from a friend of Nascimento, who observed that "Minas" matched the first letters of his full name. [4] The album was popular upon its release in Brazil and continues to rank as one of Nascimento's best-selling albums. [5]

Jota Quest is a Brazilian pop rock band. The band was founded in 1993 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais as J. Quest, but due to trademark issues with Hanna-Barbera, they renamed themselves Jota Quest. The band members include: Rogério Flausino (vocals), Marco Túlio Lara (guitar), Márcio Buzelin (keyboards), PJ (bass) and Paulinho Fonseca (drums). Jota Quest initially stood apart from Minas Gerais' musical tradition by garnering national success with pop rock and blue-eyed soul-tinged pop. Eventually the band exposed its Clube da Esquina influences, including collaborations with Minas Gerais exponents Paulinho Pedra Azul and Milton Nascimento in Oxigenio as well as jams with 14 Bis and a collaboration with Roberto Carlos over his hit single "Alem do Horizonte". Jota Quest sold over 4,000,000 copies in Brazil, Latin America and Portugal.

Clube da Esquina is a double studio album produced by the gathering of Brazilian musicians by the eponymous musical movement, led by singers and composers Milton Nascimento and Lô Borges, to whom the album is credited. In this way, it became Milton Nascimento's fifth studio album and the first by Lô Borges, who would later pursue a solo career with his own works. Conceived at a time of political tension in dictatorial Brazil, it has attracted attention for its committed compositions and miscellany of sounds. The album was released in Brazil in 1972 on double LP by EMI-Odeon and remastered in 1994 on CD by EMI Hemisphere.

<i>Geraes</i> 1976 studio album by Milton Nascimento

Geraes is the eighth studio album by Brazilian singer, guitarist, and composer Milton Nascimento. The album played a strong role in connecting Nascimento's music with the American public; at the time he was already known worldwide. It features Mercedes Sosa in "Volver A Los 17", Chico Buarque in "O Que Será ", Clementina de Jesus in "Circo Marimbondo", and the Chileans from Grupo Agua, discovered by Milton, in the tracks "Caldera", "Promessas do Sol", and "Minas Geraes", the closing track. The album cover, by Cafi, shows the same drawing of the Três Pontas Mountains and train shown in the insert of Nascimento's previous album Minas (1975) that now stands out in the Geraes cover and vinyl insert with envelope paper. The album's 1994 CD reissue features two tracks from a compact disc Milton made with Chico Buarque in 1977 for the Philips label: "Primeiro de Maio" and "Cio da Terra", which was re-recorded by Pena Branca & Xavantinho, Sérgio Reis and Mercedes Sosa herself.
