The Ministry of Education and Science (Polish: Ministerstwo Edukacji i Nauki, MEiN) was a ministry of the Government of Poland, which administrated the science and education. It functioned from 2005 to 2006, and again from 2021 to 2023.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Poland was established on 31 October 2005 by the cabinet of Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz. It took over the divisions of the Ministry of National Education and Computerisation, responsible for higher education, science, and computerisation. [1] On 5 May 2006, the ministry was divided into the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of National Education. [2] Throughout its existence, its only minister was Michał Seweryński. [3]
On 1 January 2021, the second cabinet of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki reastablished the Ministry of Education and Science, via reincorporating together the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of National Education. Its headquarters were located at 1 and 3 Wspólna Street in Warsaw, Poland. [4] Przemysław Czarnek became the minister, and was replaced by Krzysztof Szczucki on 27 November 2023. [5] [6]
On 13 December 2023, under the third cabinet of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the role of the minister was divided into two offices, with Barbara Nowacka becoming the Minister of Education, and Dariusz Wieczorek, the Ministry of Science. [7] On 1 January 2024, in accordance with the resolution of 16 December 2023, children's education and university education were split, returning to the older division of the two ministries as the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, with Nowacka and Wieczorek as ministers, respectively. There are 23 national parks in Poland. These were formerly run by the Polish Board of National Parks, but in 2004 responsibility for their management was transferred to what is now the Ministry of Climate and the Environment. Most national parks are divided into strictly and partially protected zones. They currently encompass around 186000 hectares of forest, or around 2% of all the country's woodlands.

The Ministry of National Education is a ministerial department of the government of Poland, established on 1 January 2024 after being separated from the Ministry of Education and Science. The ministry's prerogatives include setting educational standards and youth activities. It does not oversee higher education, which falls under Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The two were created in May 2006 by splitting the Ministry of Education and Science. In January 2021, the two were merged, only to be separated again in 2024.
Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Poland was created on August 23, 2005 by decision of the Council of Ministers under then-Prime Minister Marek Belka.
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Poland was opened on 5 May 2006 by the Minister of Science and Higher Education, in replacement of several parts of the Ministry of Education and Science. The Minister of Science and Higher Education administers governmental activities in science and higher education and has a budget for scientific research provided by State funds. The Rada Nauki acts together with the Minister, in replacement of the Komitet Badań Naukowych which was closed in 2005. The headquarters of the ministry are located at ulica Wspólna 1/3, Warsaw.
The Ministry of Regional Development was a ministerial department within the government of Poland. The ministry was created under the premiership of Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz on 31 October 2005, having its functions devolved from the previous Ministry of Economy and Labour. The department was merged with the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Marine Economy in November 2013 under Prime Minister Donald Tusk, creating the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs is a ministry of the Polish government founded in December 2015, dissolved in October 2020 and founded again in May 2023. Split from the Ministry of Administration and Digitization, the Ministry is responsible for matters regarding development in the cyber sphere for Poland. The first Minister of Digital Affairs was Anna Streżyńska. After she was recalled on 9 January 2018, the Ministry was under personal supervision of the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki until 17 April 2018 when Marek Zagórski was appointed the Minister of Digital Affairs. The ministry was made defunct in 2020 following a Council of Ministers decree. The Ministry is functioning again since 1 May 2023 following a Council of Ministers decree.
Ministry of Economic Development was the office of government in Poland responsible for economy and regional development. Mateusz Morawiecki was the last Minister of Development. It was created in late 2015 from the split of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development and dissolved in 2018, after creation of Ministry of Investment and Economic Development.
Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction was the office of government in Poland responsible for construction and infrastructure. Andrzej Adamczyk was the only Minister of Infrastructure and Construction. It was created in late 2015 from the split of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, in 2018 became Ministry of Infrastructure.
Ministry of Marine Economy and Inland Navigation was formed in 2015, from transformation of Ministry of Infrastructure and Development. It was dissolved in 2020.
The Ministry of Investment and Economic Development was an agency of the government of Poland. The ministry was headquartered in Warsaw and was formed from the Ministry of Development in 2018. Jerzy Kwieciński was the first and only Minister of Investment and Economic Development, serving from 9 January 2018 to 15 November 2019. It was succeeded by the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy.

The Social Committee of the Council of Ministers is an advisory body to the council of ministers of the Republic of Poland and the President of the Council of Ministers. The committee's major objective is review social affairs within the framework of the 1st and 2nd cabinets of Mateusz Morawiecki. Established in 2017, the Committee was originally chaired by Beata Szydło, the previous prime minister and incumbent Deputy Prime Minister. Piotr Gliński has been President of the Committee since June 24, 2019, following his predecessor's election to the European Parliament.
