The Ministry of ICT and National Guidance (formerly the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology) is a cabinet ministry of Uganda. [1] The ministry is headed by Chris Baryomunsi. [2]

Location

The headquarters of the ministry are located at ICT House, 10-12 Parliament Avenue, in Kampala Central Division, in the capital city of Kampala. [3] The coordinates of the headquarters of the ministry are 00°18'49.0"N, 32°35'13.0"E (Latitude:0.313622; Longitude:32.586938). [4]

Overview

The ICT ministry was created in 2006. [5] The ministry is mandated to provide leadership, coordination, support and advocacy in the formulation of policy, laws, regulations and strategy for the ICT sector in Uganda, to foster the achievement of national development goals. [6] Ruth Nankabirwa, the current ICT cabinet minister has set the goal, in the medium term, for Uganda to join the six leading African countries in the ICT arena. [7]

The Entebbe–Kampala Expressway, also known as the "Kampala–Entebbe Expressway" or the "Entebbe–Kampala Highway", is a four-lane toll highway in the Central Region of Uganda. The highway links Entebbe International Airport, the country's largest civilian and military airport, to Kampala, the country's capital and largest metropolitan area. Originally, the highway was planned for commissioning in 2016, but because of the delayed works, commissioning was done on 15 June 2018 by Uganda's sitting president, Yoweri Museveni. Recently, the Uganda Minister for Works and Transport, Gen. Katumba Wamala launched the toll point at Kajjansi along Kampala–Entebbe Road.

Frank Kagyigyi Tumwebaze is a Ugandan educator and politician of the National Resistance Movement political party. He is the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, effective 8 June 2021.

Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (Uganda) Ugandan government ministry

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (MTIC) is a cabinet level ministry of the government of Uganda. The mission of the ministry is to "develop and promote a competitive and export-driven private sector through the acceleration of industrial development", with the ultimate objective being the growth of the Ugandan economy. The ministry is headed by Minister Francis Mwebesa, who was appointed by the president.

Ministry of Works and Transport (Uganda)

The Ministry of Works and Transport is a Cabinet level government ministry of Uganda, that is mandated to plan, develop and maintain an economic, efficient and effective transport infrastructure, and transport services by road, rail, water, and air. The ministry is also mandated to manage public works including government structures and promote standards in the construction industry. The ministry is headed by a Cabinet Minister. The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) is a cabinet-level ministry of the government of Uganda. The mandate of the ministry is to "formulate, review and implement national policies, plans, strategies, regulations and standards and enforce laws, regulations and standards along the value chain of crops, livestock and fisheries". The ministry is also responsible for the "enhancement of crop production and productivity, in a sustainable and environmentally safe manner, for improved food and nutrition security, employment, widened export base and improved incomes of the farmers".

The Ministry of Disaster Preparedness and Refugees is a cabinet-level government ministry of Uganda. The ministry is responsible for the coordination of all refugee matters in the country. It is also responsible for national preparedness for disasters, including floods, landslides, earthquakes, droughts, and famine.

Uganda National Pipeline Company (UNPC), whose official name is National Pipeline Company Uganda Limited (NPCUL), is a Ugandan private limited liability company that is a 100 percent subsidiary of the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC). UNPC was incorporated under the Companies Act of 2012, with the main objective being to hold the Uganda Government's interest in the crude oil, petroleum products and natural gas pipelines together with storage facilities and associated infrastructure, within the country's nascent petroleum industry.
