Ministry of Love (film project)

Ministry of Love is a project by Bangladeshi OTT platform Chorki to produce 12 love movies of 12 film directors. In every film, there will be a shadow of love in the personal life of the makers. [1] [2] Mostofa Sarwar Farooki is the co-producer of the project. Films will be released in Chorki in phases between 2023 and 2024. [3] [4]

On 3 August 2023, at a ceremony at a hotel in Dhaka, the 12 producers shared details about their films. [5] The film directors are Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Robiul Alam Robi, Shihab Shaheen, Redoan Rony, Ashfaque Nipun, Abu Shahed Emon, Raihan Rafi, Raka Noshin Nawar, Shankha Dasgupta, Arifur Rahman, Rezaur Rahman and Anam Biswas. Project films

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki will produce two films, Raka Noshin Nawar and Shankha Dasgupta will produce one film each and other directors will produce 12 films. [7]

Something Like an Autobiography

Something Like an Autobiography is a 2023 Bengali-language Bangladeshi romantic film. Produced by Redoan Rony, the film is directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki. The film is co-produced by Anna Katchko, former head of Film Bazaar Nina Lath, Nusrat Imroz Tisha. Farooki and Nusrat Imroz Tisha jointly wrote the screenplay. Pavel Orin is directing the music. It was released in Chorki on 30 November 2023. [8] [9]

Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya

Directed by Shihab Shaheen, the second film of the Ministry of Love is Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya was released on 22 February 2024. Pritam Hasan and Tasnia Farin are playing the lead roles. Shihab Shaheen and Jahan Sultana jointly wrote the screenplay. Music directed by Emon Chowdhury. [10]

Last Defenders of Monogamy

Last Defenders of Monogamy is a 2024 Bengali language Bangladeshi romantic drama web movie. It was directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki. [11] Chanchal Chowdhury and Xeffer Rahman played the lead roles. With this, Xeffer made her film debut. The third film of Chorki's Ministry of Love project, which was released on 10 April 2024 in Chorki. [12] [13]

Forget Me Not

Forget Me Not is a 2024 Bengali-language Bangladeshi romantic psychological drama film. Robiul Alam Robi wrote the screenplay and dialogues along with the direction. Starring Yash Rohan and Mehazabien Chowdhury in the lead roles. [14] [15] This is Ministry of Love's 4th film, [16] which was released on OTT Chorki on 5 September 2024. [17] [18]

36 24 36

36 24 36 is a Bengali language Bangladeshi romantic comedy film. Rezaur Rahman is the direction the film. Starring Prarthana Fardin Dighi, Syed Zaman Shawon and Karina Kaiser. [19] It is 5th film of the Ministry of Love film project and it was theatrically released on 8 November 2024 on big screen. [20]

Something Like an Autobiography is a 2023 Bangladeshi film directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki. It was part of the Ministry of Love 12-film anthology film series for Bangladeshi streaming platform Chorki. The title of the film, borrowed from Akira Kurosawa's book of same name, resonates with events that question the boundary between reality and fiction from the plot that is presumed by Variety to be inspired from Farooki and his wife Nusrat Imrose Tisha's personal lives. The film was produced by Redoan Rony and co-produced by Anna Katchko, former Film Bazaar chief Nina Lath, Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Farooki. It was co-written by Farooki and Tisha. It marked Farooki's on-screen debut.

<i>Procholito</i> 2023 Bangladeshi horror anthology streaming television series

Procholito is a 2023 Bangladeshi horror anthology streaming television series directed by Md. Abid Mallick. The series consists of 5 episodes. The first episode, Ringtone, premiered on 19 October 2023, and the last episode of the series, Haatbodol, premiered on 16 November 2023 on Chorki. This is the 4th anthology series released on the platform. Redoan Rony is the producer, Md. Assaduzzaman is the executive producer, and Shantonu Shaan serves as the chief assistant director of this series.

Sadia Ayman is a Bangladeshi film and television actress who works mainly in Bangladeshi television dramas and Dhallywood cinema. She made her television drama debut in To Be Wife (2019) directed by Imraul Rafat, she won a BCRA Award for Best actress for her debut web film Mayashalik (2022) directed by Shihab Shaheen, and she made her big screen film debut in Kajolrekha (2024) directed by Giasuddin Selim.

Pavel Areen is a Bangladeshi composer, sound engineer and Drummer he is best known as the former drummer of the rock band Chirkutt. He started his musical journey at a young age, performing at Shishu Academy and joining several bands. He learned sound engineering by himself and started creating jingles for television and radio. Pavel also built his own recording studio, contributing to projects such as Chirkutt's first album and various film scores. Pavel Areen was nominated for the Filmfare Awards East in the Best Background Score category for the film No Bed of Roses (Doob). Additionally, he won the Channel i Music Award in 2018 for his work as a sound engineer.

Shankha Dasgupta is a Bangladeshi filmmaker known for his web series Boli (2021), Guti (2023), and Dear Maloti (2024) features Mehazabien Chowdhury selected in international competition in Cairo International Film Festival 2024 and Cinema of the World competition in International Film Festival of India 2024.
