Pritom Hasan [3] (born 27 January [1] ) is a Bangladeshi actor, model, music director, and singer. [4] He is known for producing, singing, and directing songs, as well as starring in music videos. [5] He was nominated for the Meril-Prothom Alo Award in the Best Singer category for the song "Khoka". [6] Also he won the Meril Prothom Alo Award for Best Actor in 2022. [7]

Biography

Early life and education

Pritom was born on 27 January in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the younger of two sons of Khalid Hassan Milu and Fatema Hasan. His elder brother Protic is also a singer. He attended Capital Hill International School. [1] [8] [4] He graduated from Southeast University majoring in English. [1]

Career

Hasan began his acting career by starring in a short film titled Habib Wahid: Jhor. His breakthrough performance was in Nuhash Humayun's 700 Taka, which garnered popularity. [9] [10] [11] [12] Since then he has acted in numerous music videos, short films, feature films, web content, and shows. Some of them include Khoka (short horror), [13] Kache Ashar Oshomapto Golpo (TV), [14] [15] Wedding Bells (TV Miniseries), [16] Bichhuz (TV Miniseries), YouTumor (2021 film), Pett Kata Shaw (TV Miniseries), [17] among others.

Personal life

On 28 October 2022, Pritom married Shahtaj Monira Hashem (born 22 May 1998), a Bangladeshi model, actress, singer and a talk show host. [10] [18] [19] The wedding was held in a 5-star hotel in Srimangal, Sylhet, [20] and was attended by several prominent figures such as filmmaker Nuhash Humayun, Safa Kabir, Sunerah Binte Kamal, Xefer Rahman, Ridy Sheikh and Habib Wahid. [8]

Pett Kata Shaw is a 2022 Bangladeshi horror web series written and directed by Nuhash Humayun. The series was released on online video-on-demand platform Chorki. Sohail Mondal, Shirin Akter Shila, Afzal Hossain, Chanchal Chowdhury, Pritom Hasan and Novera Rahman acted in the lead roles. The series presents modern retellings of traditional Bengali folktales passed down from generation to generation.

Nuhash Humayun is a Bangladeshi film director and screenwriter. His works include Moshari, Pett Kata Shaw, Sincerely Yours, Dhaka. His theatrical debut Sincerely Yours, Dhaka had its world premiere at the 2018 Busan International Film Festival and is currently on Netflix. His upcoming film Moving Bangladesh will be released in 2023.

Laage Ura Dhura is a single by Bangladeshi singer-composer Pritom Hasan, featuring himself and debutant Debosrie Antara. The song is co-penned by Rasel Mahmud and Sharif Uddin and composed by Pritom Hasan with chorus credited Matal Razzak Dewan. The single is featured on the soundtrack album of the 2024 Bangladeshi film Toofan, starring Shakib Khan and Mimi Chakraborty, as their first collaboration and was included in the film to fit the timeline of 90s era. Composer Pritom Hasan and director Raihan Rafi has made a cameo appearance in the song.
