The Ministry of National Development (Abbreviation: MND) in Eritrea has a mandate to plan and coordinate programs and projects at the sectoral and regional levels or to coordinate their implementation and to conduct management audit of ministries, departments and strategic public enterprises. [1] The Ministry grew out of the Office of Macro Policy within the Office of the President.
The first Minister of National Development is Dr. Woldai Futur. The current Minister, however, is Dr Giorgis Tesfamichael. See attached speech by Dr Giorgis on government position on development cooperation: [2]
Isaias Afwerki, born 2 February 1946, is the first and current president of Eritrea, a position he has held since after the Eritrean War of Independence in 1993. He led the Eritrean People's Liberation Front (EPLF) to victory in May 1991, ending the 30-year-old war for independence.
Girma Wolde-Giorgis was an Ethiopian politician who was the President of Ethiopia from 2001 to 2013. He was the second person to hold the office of President since the founding of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia in 1995.
The People's Front for Democracy and Justice is the founding and ruling political party of the State of Eritrea. The successor to the formerly left-wing nationalist and Marxist–Leninist Eritrean People's Liberation Front (EPLF), the PFDJ holds itself open to nationalists of any political affiliation. The leader of the PFDJ party and current President of Eritrea is Isaias Afewerki. It has been widely accused of totalitarianism.
The Eritrean Cabinet of Ministers, are headed by the President of Eritrea, Isaias Afwerki, and run the day-to-day operations of the Government of Eritrea. The National Assembly of Eritrea approves all candidates for the Cabinet.
Woldai Futur is the first Minister of National Development of Eritrea. His previous post was serving as an economic advisor to the President.
The Cultural Assets Rehabilitation Project was created by the Government of Eritrea to assess the architectural heritage of the capital, Asmara. This project is operated by the Cultural Heritage Steering Committee which is composed of officials from two municipalities and various government agencies.

Giorgi Vashadze is a Harvard Business School Executive Education alumnus, Georgian politician and international policy expert who served as a member of the Parliament of Georgia from 2012 to 2016. He is a founder and international key expert of Innovation and Development Foundation (IDF), international think-tank that is committed to design public policy solutions and reform packages. In May 2016, Giorgi Vashadze founded a political party ‘Political Platform - New Georgia’. He is also a founder of Computer Literacy Foundation that was established in 2012 and Georgia Reforms and Partnership Enterprise (GRAPE). Giorgi Vashadze previously served as a Deputy-Minister at the Ministry of Justice between 2010 and 2012, and a Chairman of Civil Registry Agency from 2006 to 2010.
