Mintonville in Kentucky, USA, is an unincorporated community sitting at the foot of the Green River Knob in the extreme southeastern Casey County. The town was plotted in 1849 and partially built in 1851. The first postmaster, James Wesley, named it after Robert Minton when the post office [2] first opened on October 3, 1851.
Highsplint is a former coal town with an extinct post office in Harlan County, Kentucky, United States. It was named for the High Splint and Seagraves Coal Companies which operated a mine in the town at that time. Highsplint's first post office was established on February 7, 1918, with John D.
