Miriam Christine Borg (born 30 June 1978) is a Maltese pop and rhythm and blues singer [ citation needed ] best known for representing Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 1996.
She was born in Santo Antônio do Descoberto,a small city near Brasília in Brazil, but was adopted and raised on the Mediterranean island of Gozo. She took part in various singing festivals before winning the Song for Europe Festival[ citation needed ] and representing Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 1996 with the song "In a Woman's Heart". On the night of the contest, held in Oslo, she was backed by 3 vocalists-one of whom was Georgina Abela, the wife of the composer and a former contestant. In the beginning of the voting Malta was among the top 5 but gradually fell to 10th place with 68 points.
Miriam Christine remains active as a singer in her home country, performing in weddings and on local television shows. In 2008 she formed the Gozo Children's Choir [ citation needed ] and performed during the Malta Gay Pride celebrations.[ citation needed ]

Chiara Siracusa, known professionally as Chiara, is a Maltese singer. She represented her country in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998, 2005, and 2009 and is with a second and a third place the third most successful participant who never won the contest.
Anne-Marie David is a French singer. She has represented both Luxembourg and France at the Eurovision Song Contest, winning in 1973 and placing third in 1979.

Malta was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Angel" written and performed by Chiara. The Maltese participating broadcaster, Public Broadcasting Services (PBS), selected its entry for the contest through the national final Malta Song for Europe 2005. The competition consisted of a final, held on 19 February 2005, where "Angel" performed by Chiara eventually emerged as the winning entry after gaining the most votes from a public televote with 11,935 votes. Chiara had already represented Malta in 1998.
"Corde della mia chitarra" is a song recorded by both Italian singers Nunzio Gallo and Claudio Villa, with music composed by Mario Ruccione and Italian lyrics written by Giuseppe Fiorelli. It won the Sanremo Music Festival 1957 where it was performed by both singers and represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 1957 performed by Gallo. The song is the longest in Eurovision's history. Both original recordings are ranked among the top 100 most successful songs in Italy in 1957.
