Miss Diva 2020 was the 8th edition of the Miss Diva beauty pageant held on 22 February 2020. A total of 20 contestants were shortlisted from various auditions across the country. Vartika Singh crowned Adline Castelino as her successor and she represented India at Miss Universe 2020. Shefali Sood crowned Aavriti Choudhary as her successor and she represented India at Miss Supranational 2021. Miss Diva 2018 Runner up Roshni Sheoran crowned Neha Jaiswal as her successor. Anntonia Porsild, Miss Supranational 2019 graced the event. This was the first edition of Miss Diva under Liva Fluid Fashion. [1] [2]

Contents

On 16 May 2021, Adline Castelino represented India at Miss Universe 2020 held at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States and placed 3rd runner-up. This was India's highest placement in Miss Universe since Lara Dutta who won the competition in 2000 and broke the 20-year drought placing the Runner-up ever since Celina Jaitley placed the 4th Runner-up in 2001. [3]

Background

In 2019, Liva Fluid Fashion [4] acquired the title sponsorship rights for Miss Diva. On 11 November 2019, the organization announced in a press conference that the pageant will be held in February 2020. [5] Contestants will be selected through auditions in various cities across the country. Those shortlisted contestants will go through final round of auditions in Mumbai to get top finalists who will compete at pageant. Miss Universe 2000, Lara Dutta will serve as the mentor. [6]

Format

A new format was introduced by the organization for this edition. Top 10 candidates were selected based on their performance in the preliminary segment and closed door interview. The Top 10 delegates had an opportunity to speak about themselves in an opening statement. They further competed in swimsuit and evening gown rounds to determine the Final 5. A common question was asked to all the Top 5 delegates. They were finalized into Top 3.

Grand Finale Judges

Selection of participants

Twenty delegates would be selected to compete in the grand finale. [8] Among them, thirteen participants were selected from various rounds of city audition. [9] Five finalists were selected through Campus Princess 2019 auditions. The winner of Miss North-East Diva, a regional contest conducted by the Miss India Organization, for aspirants from the Northeast India gets direct entry in the Top 20. This competition was won by Malashya Kashyap. [10] [11] One delegate got a Wildcard entry, whose winner was decided on the basis of public vote. [12] Vaishnavi Ganesh won the Wild Card entry.

City Finalists

Following are the finalists selected in auditions conducted at various cities of India. [13] They would be further shortlisted and finalized as the contestants of Liva Miss Diva 2020 pageant. [14] Few delegates selected by the Miss India Organization competed in the Wildcard round in Mumbai. The winner of this round would be selected with a combination of public voting & internal jury members. [15]

Campus Princess

The winner of Campus Princess 2019 gets direct entry to the contest. In addition, four other finalists from the auditions were finalized as Liva Miss Diva contestants. The following contestants competed in the Liva Miss Diva 2020 pageant.

The 5th edition of Miss Diva took place on 11 October 2017. The top 15 contestants selected from all over the country competed in the pageant.

The 6th edition of Miss Diva took place on 31 August 2018. Top 19 contestants selected from all over the country competed in the pageant, who were mentored by Miss Universe 2000, Lara Dutta. At the end of the event, Miss Universe India 2017, Shraddha Shashidhar crowned Nehal Chudasama as her successor. She represented India at the 67th Miss Universe 2018 pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand on 16 December 2018. At the same event, Aditi Hundia was crowned as Miss Diva - Supranational 2018 and Roshni Sheoran was crowned as Runner-up. Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was a member of the jury. Miss Supranational 2017, Jenny Kim also graced the event. This was also the first miss diva pageant in which the finale was telecasted on the same day.

Femina Miss India 2019 was the 56th edition of the Femina Miss India beauty pageant. It was held at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai on June 15, 2019, and was hosted by Karan Johar, Manish Paul and Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar. At the end of the event, Anukreethy Vas of Tamil Nadu crowned Suman Rao of Rajasthan as her successor. She represented India at Miss World 2019 in London and placed 2nd Runner Up.

Miss Diva 2019 was the 7th edition of the Miss Diva beauty pageant held on 26 September 2019. Miss Universe India 2018, Nehal Chudasama crowned Vartika Singh as her successor. She represented India at Miss Universe 2019 which was held in Atlanta, Georgia. Shefali Sood was crowned as Miss Supranational India 2019 by her predecessor, Aditi Hundia and she represented India at Miss Supranational 2019 held in Poland. Also, Varun Verma was selected as India's representative at the Mister Supranational 2019 contest.

Miss Diva 2021 was the 9th edition of the Miss Diva beauty pageant which was held on 30 September 2021 in Hyatt Regency Hotel, Mumbai. The 20 shortlisted contestants from all over the country competed in the pageant. Adline Castelino crowned Harnaaz Sandhu as her successor. After three months, she represented India at Miss Universe 2021 and became the 3rd Miss Universe from India to win the crown. Aavriti Choudhary crowned Ritika Khatnani as her successor. She represented India at Miss Supranational 2022 and won the title of Miss Supranational Asia 2022. Neha Jaiswal crowned Sonal Kukreja as 1st Runner-Up, whereas Kriti Sanon sashed all the remaining Runners-Up. Divita Rai was selected to represent India at Miss Universe 2022 and placed in the top 16.

Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu is an Indian model, actress, and winner of the Miss Universe 2021 beauty pageant. She was crowned Miss Universe India 2021 and was the third entrant from India to win Miss Universe. Sandhu was previously crowned Femina Miss India Punjab in 2019, and was a semifinalist at Femina Miss India 2019 pageant. Sandhu has since worked as an actress.

Pragnya Ayyagari is an Indian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was appointed and crowned as Miss Supranational India on 28 August 2022 in Mumbai by outgoing Miss Supranational India and Miss Supranational Asia 2022 Ritika Khatnani. Pragnya represented India at Miss Supranational 2023 competition held on 14 July 2023 in Poland and placed among the Top 12 finalists. She also won the title of Miss Supranational Asia, marking it India’s second consecutive year of winning the title.

Miss Diva 2023 was the 11th edition of the Miss Diva pageant, held at The LaLit in Mumbai, India, on 27 August 2023.

Sonal Kukreja is an Indian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Supranational India 2024. At the Miss Supranational 2024 pageant held in Poland on July 17th, 2024, she represented India and secured a spot in the Top 12, marking the fourth consecutive year that has placed in the Top 12 and eleventh overall placement for India.

Miss Diva 2024 will be the 12th edition of the Miss Diva pageant. This edition is officially titled as LIVA Miss Diva 2.0 to signify the substantial changes made to the pageant's format compared to its previous editions.

Miss and Mister Supranational India is a national beauty pageant that selects India's representatives for the global Miss Supranational and Mister Supranational competitions, which take place annually in Poland.
