Miss Earth 2006, the 6th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on November 26, 2006, at the grounds of the National Museum in Manila, Philippines. The pageant was won by Hil Hernández of Chile and crowned by outgoing titleholder, Miss Earth 2005, Alexandra Braun.
Miss Earth 2005, the 5th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on October 23, 2005, in Quezon City, Philippines. A total of 80 candidates from around the globe took part in the event.
Miss International 2007, the 47th Miss International pageant, was held on October 15, 2007 at The Prince Park Tower in Tokyo, Japan. 61 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Miss International 2006, Daniela Di Giacomo of Venezuela, crowned her successor Priscila Perales of Mexico as the new Miss International.
Miss World 1977, the 27th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 17 November 1977 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK. The winner was Mary Ann-Catrin Stävin from Sweden. She was crowned by Miss World 1976, Cindy Breakspeare of Jamaica. Runner-up was Ineke Berends representing Holland, third was Dagmar Gabriele Winkler from Germany, fourth was Madalena Sbaraini of Brazil, and fifth was Cindy Darlene Miller from United States. Stävin was awarded a $37,000 cash prize as the winner of the pageant.

Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico crowned her successor Manushi Chhillar of India at the end of the event. She is the sixth Indian woman to win Miss World after Priyanka Chopra won in 2000, with India tying Venezuela for the most wins in the pageant's history.
