Interstate 57 (I-57) is a north–south Interstate Highway in Missouri and Illinois that parallels the old Illinois Central Railroad for much of its route. It runs from Sikeston, Missouri, at I-55 to Chicago, Illinois, at I-94. I-57 essentially serves as a shortcut route for travelers headed between the Southern U.S. and Chicago, bypassing St. Louis, Missouri, and Springfield, Illinois. Between the junction of I-55 and I-57 in Sikeston and the junction of I-55 and I-90/I-94 in Chicago, I-55 travels for 436 miles (702 km), while the combination of I-57 and I-94 is only 396 miles (637 km) long between the same two points. In fact, both the control cities on the overhead signs and the destination mileage signs reference Memphis along southbound I-57, even as far north as its northern origin at I-94 in Chicago. Likewise, at its southern end, Chicago is the control city listed for I-57 on signs on northbound I-55 south of Sikeston, even though I-55 also goes to Chicago. A southward extension of I-57 from its current southern terminus to Little Rock, Arkansas, is currently in various stages of development.
Interstate 44 (I-44) is an Interstate Highway in the central United States. Although it is nominally an east–west road as it is even-numbered, it follows a more southwest–northeast alignment. Its western terminus is in Wichita Falls, Texas, at a concurrency with U.S. Route 277 (US 277), US 281, and US 287; its eastern terminus is at I-70 in St. Louis, Missouri. I-44 is one of five Interstates built to bypass US 66; this highway covers the section between Oklahoma City and St. Louis. Virtually the entire length of I-44 east of Springfield, Missouri, was once US 66, which was upgraded from two to four lanes from 1949 to 1955. The section of I-44 west of Springfield was built farther south than US 66 in order to connect Missouri's section with the already completed Will Rogers Turnpike, which Oklahoma wished to carry their part of I-44.
U.S. Route 400 is a 481.306-mile-long (774.587 km) mostly east–west U.S. Highway, commissioned in 1994. The highway's western terminus is in Granada, Colorado, at an intersection with US 385. The highway's eastern terminus is southwest of Joplin, Missouri, near Loma Linda, at an interchange with Interstate 44, with which it shares with US 166. It originally ended in Garden City, Kansas; in 1996 it was extended to its current western terminus.
U.S. Route 166 (US 166) is a 164-mile (264 km) east–west United States highway. This route and US 266 are the only two remaining spurs of historic U.S. Route 66, since US 666 was renumbered to US 491 in 2003.
State Highway 97 is a 19.86-mile (31.96 km) state highway, maintained by the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It connects two towns in the northeast part of the state: Sapulpa and Sand Springs. Several communities of West Tulsa are along the road between these two towns, including Pretty Water, Allen, and Prattville.
Route 14 is a state highway traveling through the southern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. Its western terminus is at U.S. Route 60 (US 60) in Marionville, and its eastern terminus is at US 63 on the northern edge of West Plains. Route 14 is a two-lane highway for its entire length, however, there are plans to widen Route 14 in some spots.
Route 265 is a highway in southwestern Missouri. Its northern terminus is at Interstate 44 in Mount Vernon; its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 65 south of Branson. Much of the highway is concurrent with other routes. It is also known as the Ozark Mountain Parkway.
Route 39 is a two-lane highway in southwestern Missouri. Its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 54 between Collins and El Dorado Springs at the community of Cedar Springs; its southern terminus is at the Arkansas state line where it continues as Highway 221.
Route 101 is a short highway in southern Missouri. The route starts at Arkansas Highway 101 at the Arkansas–Missouri state line, and travels northeastward. It travels through the city of Bakersfield, intersecting Route 142. The road then continues north to its northern terminus at U.S. Route 160 in Caulfield. The route was designated in 1941, after a supplementary route was renumbered.
Route 20 is a highway in central Missouri. Its eastern terminus is at U.S. Route 65 Business in Marshall; its western terminus is at Route 13 in Higginsville.
K-26 is a 3.601-mile-long (5.795 km) state highway located entirely within Cherokee County, Kansas. It runs from an intersection with U.S. Route 166 (US-166) and US-400 northwest of the Missouri/Kansas/Oklahoma tripoint north to K-66 in Galena. The highway is maintained by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT).
State Route 768 is a 1.7-mile (2.7 km) long north–south state highway in the central portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. The highway runs from its southern terminus at a signalized intersection with U.S. Route 36 (US 36) in the eastern portion of the city of Mount Vernon to its northern terminus at SR 3 approximately 1.25 miles (2.01 km) north of the Mount Vernon city limits.
State Route 586 is a north–south state highway located in the central portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. The highway's southern terminus is at a T-intersection with SR 146 in the unincorporated community of Nashport. The highway's northern terminus is at a Y-intersection with SR 13 in Mount Vernon.
State Route 661 (SR 661) is a 22.22-mile (35.76 km) long north–south state highway in the central portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. The southern terminus of SR 661 is at a diamond interchange with SR 16 and SR 37 just 0.25 miles (0.40 km) south of Granville. SR 661 has its northern terminus at a signalized T-intersection with SR 13 in the southern end of Mount Vernon.
State Route 538 is a 3.62-mile (5.83 km) long state highway located within the northern area of Mount Vernon city limits and the urban growth boundary, located in Skagit County, a subdivision of the U.S. state of Washington. The highway, which has existed as a county road since 1911, travels from Interstate 5 (I-5) in the west, passing former U.S. Route 99 (US 99), now Riverside Drive, and Skagit Valley College's main Mount Vernon campus before terminating at a roundabout with SR 9.
Interstate 44 (I-44) in the US state of Missouri runs northeast from the Oklahoma state line near Joplin to I-70 in Downtown St. Louis. It runs for about 293 miles (472 km) in the state, and is the longest Interstate Highway in the state.
State Route 229 is an east-west state highway in the central part of the U.S. state of Ohio. The western terminus of State Route 229 is at a T-intersection with State Route 47 just 0.25 miles (0.40 km) south of the village limits of Waldo. Its eastern terminus is more than 50 miles (80 km) to the east at a T-intersection with U.S. Route 36 about 5.5 miles (8.9 km) west of the village of Nellie.
State Route 308 is a north–south state highway in the central portion of Ohio, a U.S. state. The southern terminus of SR 308 is at SR 229 in the western end of the village of Gambier, and its northern terminus is three miles (4.8 km) to the north of that point at a T-intersection with U.S. Route 36 (US 36) that is located approximately one and a half miles (2.4 km) east of the city limits of Mount Vernon.
State Route 206 is a north–south state highway in central Ohio, a U.S. state. The southern terminus of State Route 206 is at a T-intersection with State Route 541 approximately 6.50 miles (10.46 km) east of the unincorporated community of Bladensburg. Its northern terminus is 3.50 miles (5.63 km) east of the village of Brinkhaven at its junction with U.S. Route 62.
