Mohamed Hussein Roble (Somali :Maxamed Xuseen Rooble;born February 1968) is a Somali politician who was the prime minister of Somalia from 23 September 2020 [2] [3] to 25 June 2022. [4]
He was born in Hobyo in February 1968. He received a BSc in civil engineering from the Somali National University,and later attended the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm,Sweden,where he completed an MA in environmental engineering and sustainable engineering. [5] Before his appointment as prime minister,he served as an NGO worker and as a technical advisor for engineering at International Labour Organization. [6] [7]
He was appointed to the post of prime minister by Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed in September 2020. [8] In his initial address to parliament after taking office,he pledged to form a cabinet which would steer Somalia through the 2021 election transition. [7] Roble re-appointed Khadar Mohamed Gulaid as deputy prime minister and he appointed 26 ministers to his cabinet,15 of whom are from the previous cabinet. The new cabinet includes 17 state ministers,and 4 women. [9]
On December 18,2020,Roble was due to address a gathering at a stadium in Galkayo. Minutes before his arrival,a suicide bomber blew himself up outside the stadium,killing seven civilians and three soldiers. Roble offered his deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims and called for unity among the Somali people in the struggle against terrorism to promote peace and development in the country. On 1 May 2021,Roble was given the mandate by the Federal Government of Somalia for overseeing the election process according to the agreement reached on 17 September 2020 by the National Consultative Forum and the Baidoa Framework of 16 February 2021 as well as security arrangements for elections. [11]
On World Press Freedom Day,May 3 2021,Roble congratulated Somali journalists,praising them for their sacrifice,resilience and commitment. He also guaranteed journalists safety and access to information,particularly through the upcoming elections,encouraging them to approach their work with responsibility and professionalism. [12]
In September 2021,Farmajo suspended Roble's executive powers following a row over his suspension of former NISA head Fahad Yasin over the murder investigation of Ikran Tahlil Farah. [13]
On 28 December 2021,Roble called on Farmajo to immediately step aside and concentrate on the campaign trail for the forthcoming elections. [14]
On 10 January,Somali leaders announced they struck a deal to complete parliamentary elections by February 25,after repeated delays that have threatened the stability of the country. The agreement was reached after several days of talks hosted by Roble with state leaders aimed at ending an impasse over the polls. [15]
After President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud began his second term on 9 June 2022,he appointed Hamza Abdi Barre to replace Roble as prime minister. Barre was approved in a vote by the House of the People on 25 June 2022. [4]
The outgoing Somali president,Mohamed Abdullah Farmajo,announced the suspension of the work of the Somali prime minister,which the deputy minister of information described as a failed coup attempt,And called on the US embassy in Somalia today,Monday,to de-escalate tensions in the country. "We 'strongly' urge Somalia's leaders to take immediate steps to de-escalate tensions,refrain from provocative actions and avoid violence," the embassy wrote on Twitter Farmajo issued a number of statements in an attempt to delay the presidential elections,including Royli's seizure of lands. [16] [17] He said it was “unfortunate and disappointing”that naval land property was plundered by senior leaders headed by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and that he would not allow such theft. The commander also said he will not stand idly by while the naval forces’land is looted and added that they recently planned to build offices there. [18] [19]

The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) is the national intelligence agency of the Federal Republic of Somalia. It is headquartered in Mogadishu. The NISA is also closely intertwined with the Somali Armed Forces and regularly cooperates with them.
Fahad Yasin Haji Dahir,,commonly known only as Fahad Yasin,is a Somali civil servant and politician,as well as a former journalist. He was also the campaign manager for Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed "Farmaajo" in the 2017 elections. After the elections,he was appointed Chief of Staff for Villa Somalia and then Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA). Farmaajo subsequently appointed him as his national security advisor. The intelligence offices of the Somali regional governments (under the National Intelligence Directorate had appointed Abdalla Yasin Jama Mohamed Dalaf as the director of head of intelligence and submission of terrorist information for the Puntland regional government.
Indirect presidential elections were held in Somalia on 8 February 2017. Members of parliament elected in the autumn-2016 parliamentary election elected former Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed to the post of President of Somalia for a four-year term.
Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed (Laftagareen) عبدالعزيزحسنمحمد(Somali:Cabdicasiis Xasan Maxamed) is the fourth president of the South West State of Somalia who was elected by representatives of South West regional state assembly on December 19th,2018. In 2019,Laftagareen had a committee appointed to deal with security issues. Laftagareen had close ties with former president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo,in which he served as a minister before becoming the president of the regional state.

The 2021–2022 Somali political crisis was a major political crisis and turmoil within the Somali government after President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed's term ended on 8 February 2021. Parliamentary elections held during 2021,but were not completed during the year. Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble opposed the president's decision,and called for him to step down. Following months of protests,a deal was struck in January 2022 to hold elections in February. After a delay,presidential elections were ultimately held in May which resulted in President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed losing his bid for reelection to Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
In 2021,elections for the Federal Parliament and subsequently the President of Somalia were due to take place,following a national agreement to reschedule them from the previous year due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Hamza Abdi Barre is a Somali politician who has served as the prime minister of Somalia since 2022. He was nominated on 15 June 2022,by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud,and he was endorsed by parliament on 25 June 2022. Hamza is also a parliamentarian elected to the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia on 28 December 2021,representing the Afmadow constituency of Middle Juba.
Abdisaid Muse Ali is a Somali politician and was the National Security Advisor to the President of Somalia from 2017 to 2021,and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia to from 2021 to 2022. Ali was forced to leave office after he was suspended by then Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble over an alleged crime which was later dismissed,and has not run for political office since. As Foreign Affairs Minister,Ali increased cooperation between Somalia and China and fought against growing Somaliland–Taiwan relations.
