Mohan Babu University (MBU) is a private university located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. [3] Established in 1992, formerly known as Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions [4] and currently as Mohan Babu University since January 2022, [5] it consists of nine schools, offering academic programs at Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and Ph.D courses in engineering, liberal arts and basic sciences, agricultural, paramedical, commerce, media and film-academy based focused courses. [6]

History

Mohan Babu University was established in 1992 with UGC-Colleges with potential for excellence status under the CPE scheme [7] by the UGC, New Delhi, India and also the institution is approved by AICTE. [8]

Campus

MBU campus is situated in a 100-acre [9] (40 ha) site located beside the Tirupati-Madanapalle national highway 71, and is about 19 kilometers (11.8 mi) from Tirupati bus-stand and 16 kilometers (9.9 mi) from Tirupati railway station and 32.9 kilometers (20.4 mi) from Tirupati Airport, Tirupati district.

Administration

The main officers of the university are Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor (VC), Registrar, Pro-Chancellor. [10] Dr. M Mohan Babu is the Chancellor of the university, Nagaraj Ramrao is the vice chancellor and K. Saradhi is the Registrar of the university, and Vishnu Manchu is the Pro-Chancellor of university. [11]

Rankings

The MBU Institutions participated in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2022 and secured 165th Rank [18] and also placed in the band excellent in ARIIA(Institute id: ARI-C-26929) rankings 2021 under the Private or Self Financing Technical Institutes category. [19]

Sri Venkateswara College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi established in 1961 in New Delhi, India. It is managed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams & UGC and awards degrees under the purview of the University of Delhi. The college offers courses both at the undergraduate level and the postgraduate level. Vocational courses and short-term add-on courses that serve as significant supplement to the academic profiles of the students are offered by the college. Admissions are done purely based on merit and as per the Delhi University norms. It is ranked 14th among colleges in India by NIRF, 2022. Subsequently, in 2021 Outlook has ranked it: 6th in the Humanities stream, 9th in the Science stream and 13th in Commerce stream.

Mohan Babu. who has been an actor, film producer, recipient of Padma Shri Award and former member of Rajya Sabha. The college is located 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) from Tirupati in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Under its aegis, SVET has several educational institutions across different disciplines.

Sri Ramulayya is a 1998 Telugu-language biographical film, based on the life of Paritala Sriramulu, father of politician Paritala Ravindra, directed by N. Shankar. The film stars Mohan Babu, Nandamuri Harikrishna and Soundarya. The film was a box office hit and won two Nandi Awards.

Sree Vidyanikethan College of Pharmacy (SVCP) was instituted by Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust (SVET) in 2004. Situated in Tirupati, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, India, the pharmacy college was founded by the actor, educationist, former Member of Parliament Dr M Mohan Babu. SVCP has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU). SVEP offers various programs including B. Pharmacy, Pharm. D, M. Pharmacy, etc.

Sree Vidyanikethan Degree College was established in 1996 by the actor, educationist, former Member of Parliament and recipient of Padma Shri Dr. M Mohan Babu. Affiliated to Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), Tirupati, A.P. and recognized by Government of Andhra Pradesh, SVDC offers undergraduate courses such as Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), Bachelor of Computer Application(B.C.A), and Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in multiple educational stream including fine arts, science, mathematics, physics, biology, electronics, general education, and many more. Accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), SVDC also offers post-graduate programmes such as Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Master of Commerce (M.Com.). Admission to Sree Vidyanikethan Degree College is open and all qualified applicants are admitted through the open admission process.

<i>Son of India</i> (2022 film) Indian Telugu-language film

Son of India is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language action drama film written and directed by Diamond Ratnababu, and produced by Vishnu Manchu under the banner of Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures and 24 Frames Factory. The film stars Mohan Babu, Meena, Srikanth, and Pragya Jaiswal. The film was released theatrically on 18 February 2022 to a highly negative reception and was box-office bomb.
