Moingona is an unincorporated community in Boone County, in the U.S. state of Iowa. [1]
Moingona got its start in 1866, when the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad was extended to that point. [2] The community derives its name from the Moingona Indians. [3] A post office was established at Moingona in 1867, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1928. [4] [5]
