The Montenegrin PEN Center (Crnogorski PEN Centar) is the national chapter of the International PEN in Montenegro. It was formed in 1990, as one-party Communist rule in what was then Yugoslavia was ending. [1]
The center has worked to promote the use of the Montenegrin literary standard of Serbo-Croatian. It published Vojislav Nikčević's Crnogorski pravopis in 1997, the first orthography for this written variant. [2]
The Montenegrin Mountain Hound is a rare dog breed from the mountain regions across the Balkans. Black and tan, with a smooth coat, the Montenegrin Mountain Hound was called Black Hound in the past. The breed is of the same origin as the other Balkan hounds. It stands 18 to 22 inches high and weighs 44 to 55 pounds. The breed is used to hunt fox, hare, and small game, occasionally hunting larger animals such as deer or even wild boar.

Montenegrin is based on the most widespread dialect of Serbo-Croatian, Shtokavian, more specifically on Eastern Herzegovinian, which is also the basis of Standard Croatian, Serbian, and Bosnian.

Ranko Krivokapić is a Montenegrin politician who served as the minister of foreign affairs from April to October 2022. He is a former long-term President of the Parliament of Montenegro from 2003 to 2016, and the President of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) from 2002 until his resignation in 2017. He is currently the honorary president of the SDP. He is the longest-serving President of the Parliament of Montenegro in the country's history.
The Montenegrins of Serbia are a national minority in the country. According to the 2022 census, there are 20,238 citizens of recent Montenegrin descent, Montenegrin Serbs, or ethnic Montenegrins in Serbia. They are the sixth largest ethnic community in the Vojvodina province.

The Montenegrin Women's Handball Cup is a national women's team handball competition in Montenegro operated by the Handball Federation of Montenegro. It has been held annually since Montenegrin independence in 2006.

Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra began working in September 2007. It is one of the most important and most complex segments of the Montenegrin Music Center. The 2013–14 Montenegrin Cup was the eighth season of the Montenegrin knockout football tournament. The winner of the tournament received a berth in the first qualifying round of the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League. The defending champions were Budućnost, who beat Čelik in the final of the 2012–13 competition. The competition featured 30 teams. It started on 17 September 2013 and ended with the final on 21 May 2014.

The Montenegrin Republic Cup was cup competition for Montenegrin lower-tier clubs in the period while Montenegro was a part of SFR Yugoslavia, FR Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro. Winners and often a finalist of Montenegrin Republic Cup participated in the Yugoslav Cup and Serbia and Montenegro Cup. Competition played from 1947 to 2006, and after independence of Montenegro is succeeded by Montenegrin Cup.
