The National Works on Paper Award is a catch-all term for a body of related awards for contemporary art made on, or with, paper. Previous entries have been in form drawing, printmaking, digital prints and paper sculpture. [1]

Contents

First awarded in 1998, it is the successor event to the Spring Festival of Drawing and the Prints Acquisitive. [2] The award is made biennially, except during the years 1998 to 2000, and 2002 to 2004, when it was made annually. The award and its accompanying exhibition are hosted by the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, located in Mornington, Australia.

She studied in England and Italy on scholarships before returning to Australia in 1960. She has exhibited across Australia and overseas, and her work is held in major Australian and English collections. In 1977 she was awarded an MBE for services to art.

The Fleurieu Art Prize is a non-acquisitive award open to Australian visual artists aged 18 years and older. The prize encompasses any two- or three-dimensional artwork submissions that follow an annual thematic concept and includes a monetary gift and significant exposure for the artists and their works. Exhibitions for the prize are held in various South Australian locations, including McLaren Vale and Goolwa. The exhibitions are open to the public at places including Stump Hill Gallery, the Fleurieu Visitors Information Centre, the Fleurieu Art House and Hardy's Tintara Sculpture Park.

Klytie Pate was an Australian studio potter who emerged as an innovator in the use of unusual glazes and the extensive incising, piercing and ornamentation of earthenware pottery. She was one of a small group of Melbourne art potters which included Marguerite Mahood and Reg Preston who were pioneers in the 1930s of ceramic art nationwide. Her early work was strongly influenced by her aunt, the artist and printmaker, Christian Waller.

Elizabeth Gower is an Australian abstract artist who lives and works in Melbourne. She is best known for her work in paper and mixed-media monochrome and coloured collages, drawn from her sustained practice of collecting urban detritus.

Margaret G. Worth is an Australian artist, who has worked as a painter, screen printer and sculptor. She studied music, pure and applied math and sciences before she turned to studies in art in 1962. Her art allowed her to seek to combine her wonder in science and spirituality. Her work is represented in the Australian national and state galleries, and in private collections in Australia and the United States.

Marie Hagerty is an Australian artist, painter, sculptor and teacher.

Angela Cavalieri is an Australian printmaker, whose work recreates text and narratives in visual form and was included in the Venice Biennale, 2011.

Hertha Kluge-Pott is a German-born Australian printmaker based in Melbourne.

Heather B. Swann is an Australian contemporary artist known for her expressive surrealist sculptural objects, often combined with installation, performance and drawings. Her work draws on artisanal traditions, carving, modelling and tailoring materials to stretch, twist and manipulate her creaturely forms that are at once whimsical and darkly ambiguous. She has received numerous recognition for her work, and her pieces are held in prominent collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, Dubbo Regional Gallery and the Ian Potter Museum of Art.
