Mortal Massacre is the first CD release by New York death metal band Mortician. It consists of their Brutally Mutilated 7" vinyl EP and Mortal Massacre (hence the title) 7" vinyl EP, and live tracks recorded at two separate shows.
Originally, Mortal Massacre was issued August 1991, as a 7" vinyl EP by Relapse Records. The cover artwork was a photo of actor Angus Scrimm in his role as "The Tall Man" from the Don Coscarelli film Phantasm.

The Mortal Massacre cd has since gone out-of-print. In 2004 Relapse Records re-released the cd as part of a two-for-one package along with the House by the Cemetery cd.

Disembowelment, often styled as diSEMBOWELMENT, were an Australian death-doom band that formed in November 1989 featuring Renato Gallina on guitar and vocals, and Paul Mazziotta on drums. In early 1991 Jason Kells joined on lead guitar and at the end of that year the group's line-up was completed by Matthew Skarajew on bass guitar. In 1992 they issued an extended play, Dusk, on Relapse Records and followed with a studio album, Transcendence into the Peripheral, in 1993. They disbanded shortly thereafter – never having performed live. AllMusic's Eduardo Rivadavia described them as "[s]till revered in underground circles as doom-grind pioneers ...
