The Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is the senior staff college of the Russian Armed Forces.
The Order of Lenin Moscow Military District was a military district of the Soviet Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The district was awarded the Order of Lenin in 1968. In 2010 it was merged with the Leningrad Military District, the Northern Fleet and the Baltic Fleet to form the new Western Military District.
The Siberian Military District was a Military district of the Russian Ground Forces. The district was originally formed as a military district of the Russian Empire in 1864. In 1924 it was reformed in the Red Army. After the end of World War II the district was split into the Western and Eastern Siberian Military Districts. In 1956 the district was reformed. In 2010 it was divided between the two newly formed Central and Eastern Military Districts.

The Tashkent Suvorov Military School (TshSVU) (Uzbek: Toshkent Suvorov Harbiy Maktabi; Russian: Ташкент Суворовское военное училище) was a Suvorov Military Academy in the Uzbek SSR and one of such other schools in the former Soviet Union for military cadets. It was designed on the basis of training young adults from ages 14–18 and educating them to be prepared for admission to higher education institutions and to further their knowledge and career in the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union The TshSVU was in existence from 1943 to 1960. It was under the direct command of the Soviet Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The 5th Air Army was an air army of the Soviet Air Forces and later the Ukrainian Air Force. First formed in 1942 during World War II, the army provided air support to Soviet forces through the rest of the war, and was renumbered as the 48th Air Army in 1949. It was stationed in the Odessa Military District during the postwar period, and in 1968 its original number was restored. Between 1980 and 1988 it was known as the Air Forces of the Odessa Military District. Redesignated as the 5th Air Army again in 1988, it became part of the Ukrainian Air Force after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and was converted into an aviation corps in 1994.

The Band of the 154th Preobrazhensky Regiment is a special military unit that is the official regimental band for the 154th Preobrazhensky Independent Commandant's Regiment. It is a branch of the Military Band Service of the Armed Forces of Russia. The band serves the entire Moscow Region, which earned it the nickname HQ Band of the Moscow Garrison.
