Mosteiros Airport( IATA : MTI, ICAO : GVMT) was a public use airfield near Mosteiros, in the northeastern part of the island Fogo, Cape Verde. The airfield operated at least since 1957 when Aero Clube de Cabo Verde opened a new air route to MTI/GVMT, with a Dove airplane which could transport 9 passengers. [2] The airfield was closed at the end of the 1990s. [3] Since then, the only airfield of Fogo is São Filipe Airport. Mosteiros Airport was located at the northwestern edge of the city of Mosteiros.

Feijoal is a village on the island of Fogo, Cape Verde. It lies close to the town Mosteiros, at about 220 meters elevation. Its population was 435 at the 2010 census. The main festival in the settlement is Saint Anthony which is on June 13.
The Architecture of Cape Verde has different architectural styles in the nation. Unlike the African mainland, Cape Verde was uninhabited until 1461 when the Portuguese arrived, most of the other islands were first inhabited after the end of the 15th century. Its architecture was introduced in the 1460s and has its first origins from Portuguese settlers from the Madeira Islands, after the first arrival of mainland Africans, a bit of African architecture would be elements mainly in rural areas. The Manueline was its first architectural style on the island, it was later followed by Renaissance, Baroque, Pombaline, Early Modern and Modern. It was one of the last in the whole of Africa to introduce architecture late. Cape Verde has one of the richest architecture in the western portion of West Africa, the sub-Saharan portion, the richest probably being Mali.

The 2014–2015 eruption of Fogo began on 23 November 2014, continuing until 8 February 2015. It was the first eruption of Pico do Fogo in 19 years, and the longest since its 1857 eruption. It had a Volcanic Explosivity Index of 3, making it the largest eruption of the volcano since records began.
The Fogo Island Cup is a regional cup competition and is played during the season in the island of Fogo, Cape Verde, it consists of all the clubs from all the two regional divisions and are divided into about four to five rounds, for some seasons, a group stage was featured. The cup competition is organized by the Fogo Regional Football Association. The cup winner competes in the regional super cup final in the following season when a cup winner also wins the championship, a runner-up competes. For several seasons, the winner qualified into Cape Verdean Cup which has been cancelled due to financial and scheduling reasons.
Estádio Francisco José Rodrigues is a multi-use stadium in Mosteiros on the island of Fogo, Cape Verde, as the island size is small, it is the only sports venue on the island. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Cutelinho and Nô Pintcha dos Mosteiros, clubs based from other parts of the municipality also plays at the stadium including Grito Povo. The stadium holds 1,000 people and its ground is artificial grass with its size being 100 by 64 meters and the longest going nearly east–west with a 20-degree angle towards the north.. The stadium is one of four operated by the Fogo Regional Football Association (ARFF), of which two are of the Premier Division.
The island of Fogo in Cape Verde in the westcenter of the Sotavento Islands is home to several teams and clubs. The major professional clubs is Botafogo, semi-pro teams includes Académica do Fogo and Vulcânicos, the remainder including the youth club Juventude and Spartak d'Aguadinha are amateur. The football competition was the third along with Sal to have its own first held in 1976 after the nation's independence.
