"Moving Pictures" arrived in July 2007 as the second single taken from the third studio album by British indie rock band The Cribs. The single, which found release on the Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever LP, provided listeners with several new songs across different formats on 30 July 2007. Recorded at the Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, British Columbia with Franz Ferdinand vocalist and guitarist Alex Kapranos, the song received additional treatment at Alchemy, London, United Kingdom. Physical release

The song received a physical release in numerous forms, through two seven inch records and a CD single, in addition to digital download. Frequent band collaborator Nick Scott designed the sleeve, which Ross used on his drums in subsequent performances that year, and featured the catalogue numbers 'WEBB128S', 'WEBB128SX' and 'WEBB128SCD'. B-sides

Two new recordings appeared on the CD single version. First, produced by the Cribs and Will Jackson and recorded at Soundworks Studios, Leeds, came "Get Yr Hands Out of My Grave", whereas "Run a Mile" dates to a 2002 demo performed by Ryan at Springtime Studios, Wakefield. Previous single "Men's Needs" received the remix treatment from CSS) on the first vinyl, with two live tracks taken from the Astoria, "Moving Pictures" and "Another Number", dating to May 2007 on the second vinyl. Miscellaneous

The promotional video received significant airplay on MTV Two in their 'Spanking New Music' feature throughout summer 2007. The song went on to reach number thirty-eight on the UK Singles Chart.

Critical reception

Heather Phares of Allmusic noted that "Ryan Jarman often sounds like a British Rivers Cuomo, especially on Moving Pictures". [4]

"Anna" is the second promotional single, and fourth overall, taken from the fifth studio album by British indie rock band the Cribs. Unlike the previous two singles released from In the Belly of the Brazen Bull, "Come on, be a No-One" and "Glitters Like Gold", "Anna" did not receive a physical issue on vinyl. Recorded and mixed at Tarbox Road Studios, Cassadaga, New York with producer David Fridmann, the song received mastering treatment in Sterling Sound, New York City from Greg Calbi.

24-7 Rock Star Shit is the seventh studio album by English band The Cribs. It was released in August 2017 under Sonic Blew, a partner label of Sony RED. The album is the band's second album recorded at Electrical Audio with producer Steve Albini following 2012's In the Belly of the Brazen Bull. The album has been described as a back-to-basics return to the band's early punk/grunge sound in contrast to the more pop-driven sound of their previous album For All My Sisters.

The album is the band's first fully self-produced album. The album was recorded over spring / summer of 2019, at the Foo Fighters' Studio 606 in Los Angeles, California, and at Halfling Studios in Portland, OR.

The Cribs was formed in 2001 by twins Gary and Ryan Jarman and their younger brother Ross Jarman. The band signed to Wichita Recordings in 2003 and released the singles the following year; "Another Number", "You Were Always the One" and "What About Me" from their debut album The Cribs which released in March 2004. The latter two singles reached the Official UK Singles Chart Top 100.
