Muhoroni Youth Football Club [2] is a football club from Muhoroni, Kenya, but plays its home matches at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi. [3] They currently compete in the Kenyan Premier League, where they were promoted after winning the 2011 season of the defunct KFF Nationwide League. Muhoroni youth won the top 8 cup in 2016.

The Kenya national football team represents Kenya in international football. It is controlled by the Football Kenya Federation, the governing body football in Kenya, and competes as a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA), a sub-confederation of CAF that has jurisdiction in East and Central Africa. It is approximately two kilometers from the City Center, directly opposite Nairobi Mega Mall, formerly known as Nakumatt Mega. The stadium was built in 1983 for a capacity of 30,000. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The popular AFC Leopards football club plays most of its home games at Nyayo stadium. The stadium is also used for athletics, swimming and various ceremonies most common of which are National Holiday celebrations. Other facilities at the Nyayo Stadium include a gymnasium and a 50-metre swimming pool. Rugby union club Mwamba RFC used the Nyayo National Stadium for home games.

Abaluhya Football Club Leopards Sports Club, officially abbreviated as AFC Leopards, or simply known as AFC, Leopards or Ingwe, is a Kenyan association football club based in Nairobi. It currently competes in the Kenyan Premier League, the top tier of the Kenyan football league system, and was founded in 1964 by football lovers from the luhya community. With 12 top-flight league titles to their name, AFC Leopards is Kenya's second most successful club behind Gor Mahia, with whom they regularly contest the Mashemeji Derby. Nairobi derby

The Nairobi derby, also commonly known as the Mashemeji derby and the Ingo-Dala derby, is the name of the local derby between two major association football teams in Nairobi: A.F.C. Leopards and Gor Mahia. It is the oldest rivalry in Kenyan football history. Fans of both A.F.C. Leopards and Gor Mahia recognize each other as arch-rivals. Gor Mahia has won the Kenyan Premier League a record 18 times, while A.F.C. Leopards have 12 league titles to their name as at 2019.

The 2012 Kenyan Premier League was the ninth season of the Kenyan Premier League since its establishment in 2003 and the forty-ninth season of top division football in Kenya since 1963.
