The KPL Awards, also known as the KPL Footballer of the Year Awards (FOYA), refer to an awards ceremony held to honour association football players, coaches, officials and journalists participating in the Kenyan Premier League. They are conferred by the Football Kenya Federation.

2014

The 2014 KPL Awards were held on 19 November 2014 at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi. 13 categories were handled at the event. [12]

The award ceremony was criticised for the manner in which players, coaches and officials were nominated and awarded, with the Football Kenya Federation stating that it took "strong exception to the manner in which winners of the 2014 awards were named". [13] The Standard journalist Rodgers Eshitemi said the awards "will go down as the most shambolic fete ever in Kenya's football history". [14]

League champions Gor Mahia earned a place in the preliminary round of the 2014 CAF Champions League while 2013 FKF President's Cup champions A.F.C. Leopards earned a place in the preliminary round of the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup.

The following article is a summary of the 2013 football season in Kenya, which is the Golden Jubilee (50th) competitive season in its history.

The 2012 FKF President's Cup was the 41st season of Kenya's top domestic cup competition. The deadline for application was 30 July, and 32 clubs had registered for participation to the tournament after paying a mandatory KSh.15,000/= fee, with a final list of 34 teams. The quarter-finals were played on 6−7 October, while the semi-finals and the final were played on 17−18 November and 21 November respectively, after the end of the 2012 Kenyan Premier League.

The 2014 Kenyan Premier League was the eleventh season of the Kenyan Premier League since it began in 2003. It was also the 51st season of top division football in Kenya since 1963. Gor Mahia won the league title for the second consecutive season, earning a place in the preliminary round of the 2015 CAF Champions League while 2014 FKF President's Cup champions Sofapaka represented Kenya in the preliminary round of the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup. The two teams faced each other at the 2015 Kenyan Super Cup.

Gabriel Kingi Njoroge is a former Kenyan Premier League football coach who handled Mathare Youth F.C., Mathare United, Nairobi City Stars,and Thika United and now in the ranks of Nairobi-based Vifaru Football Academy. He is a KNVB-trained coach and holder of UEFA 'B'as well as CAF 'C' License.

David Shikami Kwalimwa is a Kenyan multimedia sports journalist who currently works for the Nation Media Group. He previously worked at Sports TV in Uganda, K24 TV, Kiss TV as a sports producer and as a reporter for Goal.

Paul Okatwa Odhiambo is a former Kenyan striker who until recently was the head coach at Kenyan National Super League side Nairobi United.
