Murray Coell (born 1955 or 1954) is a Canadian politician. He is a former member of the British Columbia Legislative Assembly,representing the riding of Saanich North and the Islands,a suburb of Victoria,from 1996 through 2012. He is a BC Liberal. He previously served as the Minister of Environment,Minister of Labour,Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development;Minister of Human Resources;Minister of Community,Aboriginal and Women's Services;and Minister of Advanced Education and Minister Responsible for Research and Technology. Coell was first elected to the British Columbia legislature in 1996 and has been re-elected in 2001,2005,and 2009. He announced in 2012 that he would not run for re-election. [3]
Prior to being elected to provincial office,Coell was mayor of Saanich,British Columbia for six years. [3] He has also served as chair of the Capital Regional District. Before entering politics,Coell was a social worker and a small business owner. He has a Bachelor of Arts in social welfare from the University of Victoria.

The Green Party of British Columbia, often simply called the BC Greens, is a provincial political party in British Columbia, Canada. It was founded in 1983 and is based in Victoria. The party won its first seat in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the 2013 provincial election. The party won 3 seats in the 2017 provincial election, making it the first elected Green caucus in North America.

Saanich South is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, Canada. It was created by 1990 legislation dividing the previous two-member district of Saanich and the Islands which came into effect for the 1991 B.C. election. Between 1966 and 1991, the riding was dominated by Social Credit, who won every election except for 1972 when the riding was won by the British Columbia Progressive Conservative Party.

Paul Ramsey is a Canadian academic and politician. A member of the New Democratic Party, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia for Prince George-North in 1991 and re-elected in 1996, serving until 2001.
Lana Popham is Canadian politician representing the riding of Saanich South in the Legislature of British Columbia and has been the Minister of Agriculture since 2017. She was first elected in 2009 provincial general election to the 39th Parliament and then re-elected in 2013, 2017 and 2020 to the 40th, 41st and 42nd Parliaments. As a member of the British Columbia New Democratic Party, she was part of the official opposition to the governing BC Liberal Party until 2017 when the NDP formed the government and she became the Minister of Agriculture. As minister, she led the adoption of two bills, both of which amended the Agricultural Land Commission Act, and an order in council that began the phasing out of mink farming. While in opposition, she has served predominately as the critic on agricultural issues and introduced two private members bills: the British Columbia Local Food Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Amendment Act. Prior to her election, Popham owned and operated the organic grape orchard, Barking Dog Vineyard, on Vancouver Island.

Murray Rankin, is a Canadian lawyer, politician and public law expert who has served as British Columbia's Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation since November 2020. A member of the New Democratic Party, Rankin represents the riding of Oak Bay-Gordon Head in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. Rankin previously served as the federal Member of Parliament for Victoria from 2012 to 2019, with senior roles including Justice and Attorney General Critic, Health Critic, and served as NDP House Leader.
