Hebei Province

Hebei is a coastal province in Northern China. The modern province was established in 1911 as Chihli Province. Its capital and largest city is Shijiazhuang. Its one-character abbreviation is "冀" (Jì), named after Ji Province, a Han dynasty province (zhou) that included what is now southern Hebei. The name Hebei literally means "north of the river", referring to its location entirely to the north of the Yellow River.

Ping opera

Pingju or Ping opera is a form of Chinese opera from northern China.

Hebei is home to the Hebei International Music Festival.

The jiedushi were regional military governors in China during the Tang dynasty and the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. The post of jiedushi has been translated as "military commissioner", "legate", or "regional commander". Originally introduced in 711 to counter external threats, the jiedushi were posts authorized with the supervision of a defense command often encompassing several prefectures, the ability to maintain their own armies, collect taxes and promote and appoint subordinates.

Yuhua District, is one of eight districts of the prefecture-level city of Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province, North China, located in the southeast of the urban core of Shijiazhuang. Hebei China Fortune Football Club is a professional Chinese football club that participates in the Chinese Super League division under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team is based in Langfang, Hebei and their home stadium is the Langfang Stadium that has a seating capacity of 30,000. Their current owners are real estate developers China Fortune Land Development who took over the club on 27 January 2015.

Zhou Benshun is a former Chinese politician. Between 2013 and 2015, he served as the Communist Party Secretary and the top official of Hebei Province. Prior to his post in Hebei, Zhou Benshun was the Secretary-General of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, serving under disgraced domestic security chief Zhou Yongkang.

Wang Renzhong Chinese politician

Wang Renzhong was a Chinese political leader. He was born to a peasant family in Jing County, Hebei. In November 1933, he joined the Communist Party of China. From 1938, he served as the vice director of Hebei-Shandong-Henan CPC Publicity Department, director of South Hebei CPC Propaganda Department, and as a party group secretary. After 1945, he became the director of South Hebei CPC Administrative Office.

Jing Chunhua is a former Chinese politician who spent most of his career in Hebei province. Beginning in 2008, Jing served as the Secretary-General of the Hebei Provincial Communist Party Committee, in charge of coordination and implementation. Prior to that, Jing served as party chief of Hengshui, a prefecture-level city. He was investigated in March 2015 by the Communist Party's anti-graft agency, suspected of corruption.

Zhang Yue is a former Chinese politician, and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of Hebei. A police officer by training, Zhang had a lengthy career rising through the ranks in China's policing system. He was dismissed from his position in April 2016 and undergoing investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

1st Independent Division of Hebei Provincial Military District was formed in July 1966 basing on six independent infantry regiment and independent infantry company of Hebei Provincial Military District.

2nd Independent Division of Hebei Provincial Military District was formed in July 1966 from the Public Security Contingent of Hebei province. The division was composed of five regiments.

Yang Chongyong is a former Chinese politician who spent his career in Yunnan and Hebei provinces. He most recently held the post of the Vice-Chairman of the Hebei People's Congress. Previously, he held the post of the Vice Governor of Hebei and Communist Party Secretary of Kunming. He was investigated by the Communist Party of China's anti-graft agency in April 2017. He was accused of taking 206 million RMB bribery according to The Second People's Court of Tianjin, 2018.
