Mustafa Zahid (born 18 December 1984) is a Pakistani music composer [2] and singer who achieved success with his 2007 singles "Toh Phir Aao" and "Tera Mera Rishta". He sang several hit songs for Bollywood movies. He is also the band leader and the lead vocalist of Roxen, a rock band which was formed in 2004. [3]

Early life

Mustafa was born in Lahore. He is the nephew of Ali Azmat, [4] who was the lead vocalist of the famous rock band Junoon, and is also related to the late Sufi kalam singer, actor, director and producer Inayat Hussain Bhatti. [5] From childhood, he never thought that he would become a singer. He was daring from his young age and he did anchoring for the college function. during that time, he was asked to sing some songs by the professors. He hesitatingly sang the bheegi bheegi raton me song for about 2 lines. From this, he got lot of motivation to become a singer. [6]

Mainstream and Bollywood

In mid-2007, two of his songs were used in the Bollywood movie Awarapan. Mustafa Zahid has sung over a dozen Bollywood songs including massive hits in movies like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain [7] Mustafa is also the top 3 most followed artists of Pakistan on Spotify with over 5.5 million followers.

Roxen

Their debut album titled Roxen-E-Dewaar was released in late 2006 and remained on top of all charts in South Asia for almost six weeks. The Indian release of the album was in mid December 2008. Universal Music has signed Mustafa Zahid and Roxen (band) for a worldwide release of their upcoming Album. [8] [9]

Overload is a Pakistani rock band from Lahore, Punjab, formed in August 2003. The group is directed by producer, lead vocalist and drummer, Farhad Humayun and keyboard/synth player, songwriter and composer, Sheraz Siddiq, who were soon joined by Hassan Mohyeddin on percussion along with dhol players Pappu Sain and Jhura Sain. It is the second Junoon album led by guitarist and singer Salman Ahmad following Ali Azmat's departure in 2005 and a tribute album following the death of former Vital Signs vocalist Junaid Jamshed in plane crash on 07th December 2016, to whom "Khwab" and "Door Bohat Door" are dedicated.
