Myles Roberts (born 12 December 2001) is an English footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Scottish Championship club Partick Thistle on loan from EFL Championship club Watford.

Career

Early career

Roberts started his career at Reading, being a part of the club's youth sides. During his time with the club Roberts had a short-term loan spell with Wealdstone. [1]

Watford

After leaving Reading Roberts signed with Watford in January 2020. [2] Roberts has had multiple loan spells away from Reading including season long loans with National League South clubs Concord Rangers and Welling United. [3] [4] Before Roberts was recalled by Watford during his time with Welling United, to train with the Watford first team. [5]

Partick Thistle (loan)

In July 2024 Roberts joined Scottish Championship club Partick Thistle on a season long loan. [6] [7] [8] [9]

Roberts made his Partick Thistle debut on the opening league game of the 2024–25 season, keeping a clean sheet and earning the man of the match award in a 0–0 home draw with Greenock Morton. [10] [11]

Sean Andrew McGinty is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Scottish Championship club Hamilton Academical. After a spell with Charlton Athletic as a junior, he began his professional career with Manchester United. Rhys Breen is a Scottish footballer who plays as a defender for Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic. Breen began his career with Rangers, and has also had loan spells with Partick Thistle, Queen of the South and Orange County SC. Breen joined Dunfermline athletic in July 2021.

The 2020–21 season was Partick Thistle's first season in the third tier of Scottish football in Scottish League One, having been relegated from the Scottish Championship at the end of the 2019–20 season. On 15 April 2020, the SPFL voted to end the lower leagues in Scottish football due to the coronavirus pandemic and as a result Partick were relegated to League One after two years in the Championship, which the club decided not to take legal action against. The 2023–24 season will be Partick Thistle's fourth season back in the Scottish Championship, having been promoted from League One at the end of the 2020–21 season. Thistle will also compete in the League Cup, Challenge Cup, Scottish Cup and Glasgow Cup.
