Myoleja tsaratanana is a species of tephritid, or fruit fly, in the genus Myoleja of the family Tephritidae. [1] [2] [3]
Madagascar is a large island in the Indian Ocean off the eastern coast of southern Africa, east of Mozambique. It has a total area of 587,040 square kilometres (226,660 sq mi) with 581,540 square kilometres (224,530 sq mi) of land and 5,500 square kilometres (2,100 sq mi) of water. Maromokotro or Maromokotra is the highest mountain on Madagascar at 2,876 metres (9,436 ft) high. It is located in the Tsaratanana Massif inside the Tsaratanana Reserve in the northern part of the island.

The Northern Highlands are a mountainous biogeographical region of northern Madagascar. The region includes the Tsaratanana Massif and smaller nearby massifs such as Marojejy, Anjanaharibe-Sud, and Manongarivo. The Mandritsara Window separates the Northern from the Central Highlands and apparently acts as a barrier to dispersal between the two highlands, leading to species pairs such as Voalavo gymnocaudus and Voalavo antsahabensis. None of the montane endemics of Tsaratanana are shared with the major massifs of the Central Highlands.
Mandritsara is a district in northern Madagascar. It is a part of Sofia Region and borders the districts of Befandriana-Nord in north, Maroantsetra in northeast, Mananara in east, Soanierana Ivongo in southeast, Andilamena in south and Boriziny (Port-Bergé) in west. The area is 10,512 km2 (4,059 sq mi) and the population was estimated to be 204,503 in 2001.
Betsiboka is a region of Madagascar. It borders Boeny Region in north, Sofia in northeast, Alaotra-Mangoro in east, Analamanga and Bongolava in south and Melaky in west. The capital of the region is Maevatanana. Until 2009 Betsiboka belonged to Mahajanga Province. The population was 394,561 in 2018 within the area of 30,025 km2 (11,593 sq mi). Betsiboka is one of the least densely populated regions in Madagascar.
