Nanjaiah Mahesh (born 1 June 1956) is an Indian politician member of the Bharatiya Janata Party from 5 August 2021. He was Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education of Karnataka in the H. D. Kumaraswamy cabinet,but resigned on 11 October 2018 citing personal reasons. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] He won the 2018 assembly elections from the Kollegal constituency. [6] [7] [8] [9]
Mahesh took oath of his office of Primary and Secondary Education Ministry in the name of Buddha,Basava and Ambedkar. [10] He emphasizes quality education [11] and students' skill training at school level. [12] He also proposed a plan to merge single teacher schools across the state [13] and has also contemplated denying any permission to new private schools for the next three years. [14] [15] His ministry prepared a policy of capping fee structure of private CBSE and ICSE schools in the State. [16] He experimented with Open Book system in Kannada schools, [17] [18] which was praised by K. S. Bhagawan. [19] He launched 100 Schools 100 Books initiative for developing reading habit among children of Karnataka. [20] He launched Career guidance and counselling cells in the colleges of Bangalore. [21] N. Mahesh resigned as the Education Minister of Karnataka on 11 October 2018. On 5 August 2021 he joined BJP.
Mysore,officially Mysuru,is a metropolitan city in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. The University of Mysore is a public state university in Mysore,Karnataka,India. The university was founded during the reign of Maharaja Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV and the premiership of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission for offering higher studies degree courses on-campus as well as online. It was inaugurated on 27 July 1916. Its first chancellor was the maharaja himself;the first Vice-Chancellor was H. V. Nanjundaiah. This was the first university outside of British administered Indian provinces,the sixth in the Indian subcontinent as a whole,and the first in Karnataka. It is a state university of the affiliating type,and was deemed autonomous within the Republic of India on 3 March 1956,when it gained recognition from the University Grants Commission.
Mysore district,officially Mysuru district,is an administrative district located in the southern part of the state of Karnataka,India. It is the administrative headquarters of Mysore division. Chamarajanagar District was carved out of the original larger Mysore District in the year 1998. The district is bounded by Chamrajanagar district to the southeast,Mandya district to the east and northeast,Kerala state to the south,Kodagu district to the west,and Hassan district to the north.
Siddaramaiah,also referred to by his nickname Siddu,is an Indian politician who is serving as the 22nd Chief Minister of Karnataka since 2023. Mysore division,officially Mysuru division,is an administrative division in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. It is one of four administrative divisions in Karnataka,the others being Bangalore division,Belagavi division,and Kalaburagi division. Mysore division comprises eight districts of Karnataka,namely,Chamarajanagar,Chikmagalur,Dakshina Kannada,Hassan,Kodagu,Mandya,Mysore and Udupi district.
