Mysore,officially Mysuru,is a metropolitan city in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. It is the state's second-most populous and is one of the cleanest cities in India according to the Swachh Survekshan. It is the seat of the Wadiyar dynasty and was the capital of the Kingdom of Mysore for almost six centuries,from 1399 until 1947. It is currently the headquarters of Mysore district and Mysore division. Known for its heritage structures and palaces,including the famous Mysore Palace,and noted for its culture,Mysore is popularly known as the "City of Palaces",the "Heritage City",and the "Cultural Capital of Karnataka". For its pristine and calm ambience,it is also known as "Pensioners' Paradise".
The University of Mysore is a public state university in Mysore,Karnataka,India. The university was founded during the reign of Maharaja Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV and the premiership of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission for offering higher studies degree courses on-campus as well as online. It was inaugurated on 27 July 1916. Its first chancellor was the maharaja himself;the first Vice-Chancellor was H. V. Nanjundaiah. This was the first university outside of British administered Indian provinces,the sixth in the Indian subcontinent as a whole,and the first in Karnataka. It is a state university of the affiliating type,and was deemed autonomous within the Republic of India on 3 March 1956,when it gained recognition from the University Grants Commission.
Mysore district,officially Mysuru district,is an administrative district located in the southern part of the state of Karnataka,India. It is the administrative headquarters of Mysore division. Chamarajanagar District was carved out of the original larger Mysore District in the year 1998. The district is bounded by Chamrajanagar district to the southeast,Mandya district to the east and northeast,Kerala state to the south,Kodagu district to the west,and Hassan district to the north.
Siddaramaiah,also referred to by his nickname Siddu,is an Indian politician who is serving as the 22nd Chief Minister of Karnataka since 2023. He also held that position previously from 2013 to 2018,being only the second person to hold that office for a full five-year term. He belongs to the Indian National Congress and is presently the leader of the Congress Legislative Party. He represented the Varuna Assembly constituency from 2023,previously from 2008 to 2018,Badami Assembly constituency from 2018 to 2023,and from Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency from 2004 to 2007,1994 to 1999 and from 1983 to 1989 in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1996 to 1999 and from 2004 to 2005 while he was a member of the Janata Dal and Janata Dal (Secular). He also served as the Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly on two occasions from 2019 to 2023 and from 2009 to 2013. Siddaramaiah was a member of various Janata Parivar factions for several years.
Mysore division,officially Mysuru division,is an administrative division in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. It is one of four administrative divisions in Karnataka,the others being Bangalore division,Belagavi division,and Kalaburagi division. Mysore division comprises eight districts of Karnataka,namely,Chamarajanagar,Chikmagalur,Dakshina Kannada,Hassan,Kodagu,Mandya,Mysore and Udupi district. The city of Mysore is the administrative headquarters of the division. Mysore division covers parts of historical Old Mysore region and southern part of Coastal Karnataka.The total area of the division is 43,503 sq.km. The total population as of 2011 census is 12,563,598.
The Government of Karnataka,abbreviated as GoK,or simply Karnataka Government,formerly Government of Mysore,is a democratically elected state body with the governor as the ceremonial head to govern the Southwest Indian state of Karnataka. The governor who is appointed for five years appoints the chief minister and on the advice of the chief minister appoints his council of ministers. Even though the governor remains the ceremonial head of the state,the day-to-day running of the government is taken care of by the chief minister and his council of ministers in whom a great amount of legislative powers are vested.
Mysore Airport,also known as Mandakalli Airport,is a domestic airport serving Mysore in Karnataka,India. It is located eight kilometres (5 mi) south of the city in the village of Mandakalli and is owned and operated by the Airports Authority of India. The Princely State of Mysore constructed it in 1940. The airport was later refurbished and inaugurated in May 2010. At present,it has direct flights to Chennai,Goa,and Hyderabad.

Darshan Thoogudeepa known mononymously as Darshan is an Indian actor,producer,and distributor who works predominantly in Kannada films. One of the leading contemporary actors of Kannada cinema,Darshan established the production house Thoogudeepa Productions in 2006. Its first production was Jothe Jotheyali,with Darshan in a special appearance.
