Parkside Spurs is a women's Australian rules football club that competes in the Western Region Football League and AFL Masters Victoria competition. Based in Footscray, they play home games at Henry Turner Oval. They were formerly known as the St Albans Spurs and then Western Spurs, and competed for multiple decades in the Victorian Women's Football League.

She previously played netball and captained Victoria at the National Netball Championships. Birch is currently studying a Physiotherapy degree at La Trobe University. In 2016, Birch switched from netball to Australian rules football and was recruited by the Western Bulldogs as a rookie after having only played football for three months for the Darebin Falcons in the VFL Women's.
Ellyse Gamble is an Australian rules footballer playing for Essendon in the AFL Women's competition. Gamble was drafted by the Western Bulldogs with their ninth selection and sixty-ninth overall in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in the thirty-two point win against Fremantle at VU Whitten Oval in the opening round of the 2017 season. She played six matches in her debut season. It was revealed that Gamble had signed a contract extension with the club on 16 June 2021, after playing 8 out 9 possible games for the club that season. Gamble achieved selection in Champion Data's 2021 AFLW All-Star stats team, after averaging the best in the league for one-on-one loss rate in the 2021 AFL Women's season, with a percentage of just 10.5 percent. In May 2022, Gamble joined expansion club Essendon.
Laura Bailey is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for the Richmond Football Club in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). She previously played eight matches over two seasons with the Western Bulldogs.
Meghan McDonald is an Australian rules footballer with the Geelong Football Club in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). She previously played with the Western Bulldogs in the 2017 season. McDonald was recruited by the Western Bulldogs as a free agent in November 2016. She made her debut in the seven point loss to Collingwood at VU Whitten Oval in round four of the 2017 season. She played four matches in her debut season and kicked one goal. She was delisted at the conclusion of the 2017 season. In September 2018 she accepted a contract with Geelong to play in the club's inaugural season in the AFLW in 2019. She was awarded Geelong's best and fairest medal in her debut season at the club. In December 2020, McDonald was announced as Geelong's captain, replacing Melissa Hickey who retired at the end of the 2020 season. In the 2021 AFL Women's season, McDonald was awarded with her second All-Australian blazer, named on the full back position. McDonald achieved selection in Champion Data's 2021 AFLW All-Star stats team, after leading the league for average intercept possessions in the 2021 AFL Women's season, totalling 8.3 a game.
The AFL Women's Rising Star is an Australian rules football award given annually to the best young player in the AFL Women's (AFLW) for the year. Two eligible players are nominated each round of the home-and-away season; the players must have been under 21 at the beginning of the year and cannot have been previously nominated. Players suspended during the year cannot win. After the season's completion, an expert panel votes on the recipient.
Chloe Molloy is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Sydney Swans in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She previously played for the Collingwood Football Club from 2018 to season 7. Molloy is a three-time AFL Women's All-Australian, and won the AFL Women's Rising Star and Collingwood best and fairest awards in 2018. She also led Collingwood's goalkicking in 2021 and season 6, and Sydney's goalkicking in 2023. Molloy has served as Sydney co-captain since the 2023 season.
Isabel Huntington is an Australian rules footballer playing for Greater Western Sydney in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She was drafted to the Western Bulldogs with the first pick in the 2017 AFL Women's draft.
Daria Bannister is an Australian rules footballer with Essendon in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Bannister was drafted by the Western Bulldogs with their fourth selection and nineteenth overall in the 2017 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in the 26-point win against Fremantle at VU Whitten Oval in the opening round of the 2018 season. She suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter of that match, later revealed to be a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. The resulting surgery would see and end to her AFLW season and carry an estimated 12 months of recovery. In May 2018, Bannister signed with expansion club North Melbourne to play with the club in the 2019 AFLW season. It was revealed she signed on with the club for two more seasons on 17 June 2021, tying her to the club until the end of 2023; however, in May 2022, she joined expansion club Essendon.

Aisling Utri is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Western Bulldogs in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Utri was recruited by the Western Bulldogs as a rookie signing in August 2017 due to her career in field hockey. She made her debut in the twenty-six point win against Fremantle at VU Whitten Oval in the opening round of the 2018 season. In round 4 Utri received a nomination for the 2018 AFL Women's Rising Star award after recording 18 disposals in her side's win over Carlton.
Emily McGuire is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). McGuire was drafted by Fremantle with their fifth selection and thirty-third overall in the 2017 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in the five-point win against Melbourne at Fremantle Oval in round three of the 2018 season. McGuire received a nomination for the 2018 AFL Women's Rising Star award after kicking two goals in the match. She was delisted by Fremantle at the end of the 2018 season. In August 2020, McGuire was delisted by West Coast.
Kim Rennie is an Australian rules footballer who plays for North Melbourne in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She has previously played for the Western Bulldogs, having been signed as a rookie in 2017, after having converted to the sport from a previous background in basketball. She was upgraded to the Bulldogs' main playing list following an injury to captain Katie Brennan and subsequently made her debut in the 73-point win over Carlton at VU Whitten Oval in round 4 of the 2018 season. She requested a trade to North Melbourne in May 2021, but North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs were unable to reach an agreement, leaving her at the Bulldogs at the conclusion of the trade period. A few weeks later it was announced that Rennie declined the Western Bulldogs' contract offer and was delisted by the club. In the 2021 AFL Women's draft, Rennie joined North Melbourne, who used the 28th pick for her.

Eleanor Brown is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Western Bulldogs in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She played many positions in her junior career in the TAC Cup Girls and VFL Women's before she was drafted by the Bulldogs with the tenth selection in the 2018 AFLW draft. Brown debuted in the opening round of the 2019 season.
Haneen Zreika is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She is the first person of Lebanese descent, and the first Muslim, to play in the AFL Women's. Initially a rugby league player, Zreika switched to Australian rules football when she was 15 years old. Zreika played in the AFL Sydney competition before she was drafted by Greater Western Sydney in the 2017 rookie draft. She was delisted by the Giants at the end of the 2018 season, but was later re-selected in the 2018 draft after a strong season in the AFL Sydney. Zreika made her AFLW debut in the opening round of the 2019 season and was nominated for the 2019 AFL Women's Rising Star award in round 7.
Tait Mackrill is an Australian rules footballer who played for Greater Western Sydney (GWS) in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She was drafted in the 2017 AFLW rookie draft before debuting in round 3 of the 2019 season.
