Kirsty Maree Lamb (born 27 June 1994) is an Australian rules footballer playing for Port Adelaide in the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition. She has previously played for the Western Bulldogs Lamb previously played cricket for Victoria in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) and for the Melbourne Renegades in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL).
An all-rounder bowling left-arm medium pace and batting right-handed,Lamb was appointed captain of Victorian Premier Cricket club Plenty Valley at age 19. [1] She began playing for Victoria in 2012–13,appearing in six Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) matches that season and winning the team's Rookie of the Year Award. [2] [3] Lamb signed with the Melbourne Renegades for the inaugural Women's Big Bash League season,playing a total of eight matches. [4]
Despite not having played for Victoria and the Renegades since the 2015–16 season, [5] Lamb has remained involved in the administrative side of the sport through her position as an events coordinator at the Australian Cricketers' Association. [6]
After moving from Yarrambat Junior Football Club in 2009, [7] Lamb played over 150 games for Diamond Creek Women's Football Club. [8] In 2012,she was a major contributor to Diamond Creek's maiden Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL) premiership,winning the Lisa Hardeman Medal (awarded to the player adjudged best afield) in a five-point Grand Final defeat of Darebin at Box Hill City Oval. Lamb went on to appear in the 2014 VWFL Grand Final with Diamond Creek at Coburg City Oval,kicking two goals in a 30-point loss to Darebin. [11] In the VFL Women's (VFLW) competition,the successor league to the VWFL,Lamb and Diamond Creek reached the 2017 Grand Final at Docklands Stadium,though her team would again suffer defeat at the hands of Darebin. Lamb was drafted by the Western Bulldogs with their 18th selection and 138th overall in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. [13] She made her debut in the 32-point win against Fremantle at VU Whitten Oval in the opening round of the 2017 season. [14] Following the match,she accepted a one-game suspension by pleading guilty to engaging in rough conduct against Akec Makur Chuot. [15]
In 2018,Lamb was an integral member of the Western Bulldogs' premiership team,playing every game of the season and finishing third in the club's best and fairest count. [16] She collected 12 disposals and laid eight tackles in the six-point Grand Final victory against Brisbane at Ikon Park. [17]
Lamb had a strong 2021 season,finishing as runner-up in the Western Bulldogs' best and fairest count. [18] In a six-point round two victory against Carlton at VU Whitten Oval,she recorded 16 disposals,eight tackles and a career-first vote in the league's best and fairest count. On 16 June 2021,it was revealed that Lamb had signed a contract extension with the club after playing every game possible for the club that season. [19]
2022 season 6 proved to be a breakout season for Lamb,with the "tough midfielder" [20] earning selection in the All-Australian team and winning the AFLPA Most Courageous Player award. [21] She also tied for first place with Ellie Blackburn in the Western Bulldogs' best and fairest count, [22] finished fifth in the AFL Coaches' Champion Player award, [23] and ended the league's best and fairest count in equal-13th position with nine votes. [24] Despite reports of "significant interest" [25] from St Kilda in April 2022,Lamb rejected offers to switch clubs and ultimately re-committed with the Western Bulldogs for another season. [26]
Ahead of the 2024 AFL Women's season,Lamb was traded to Port Adelaide as part of an 11-club trade. [27]

The Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL) was the oldest and largest Australian rules football league for women in the world, consisting of 47 clubs from Victoria, Australia across seven divisions with a total of over 1,000 players.
The Darebin Women's Sports Club, nicknamed the Falcons, is a sports club based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne that is primarily notable for its Australian rules football team which competes in the highest-level Victorian state league – the VFL Women's (VFLW). It is the only VFLW club that is not affiliated with a side from the national AFL Women's (AFLW) competition or the Australian Football League (AFL).
Emily Bates is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Hawthorn Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She previously played for the Brisbane Lions from 2017 to season 7. Bates was selected by the Western Bulldogs in the inaugural national women's draft in 2013, and represented them in the first three years of the exhibition games staged prior to the creation of the league. She represented Brisbane in 2016, the last year that the games were held, and was drafted by the club with the second selection in the 2016 AFL Women's draft prior to the inaugural AFL Women's season.
Daisy Pearce is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW) and is the current AFLW senior coach of the West Coast Eagles.
Katie Brennan is an Australian rules footballer with and captain of the Richmond Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Melissa Hickey is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club and the Geelong Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She served as Geelong captain in the club's first two AFL Women's seasons. She also played in the Victorian Women's Football League/VFL Women's for eleven seasons, representing the St Albans Spurs, Darebin and Geelong. Aasta O'Connor is a retired Australian rules footballer who played as a ruck for Western Bulldogs and for Geelong in the AFL Women's competition. She is also a member of the Darebin Falcons' VFL Women's team.
Karen "Paxy" Paxman is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Melbourne Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). A defender, 1.70 metres (5.6 ft) tall, Paxman plays primarily on the half-back line with the ability to push into the midfield. She first played football at sixteen years of age and won a premiership and league best and fairest in her first year. She played in the premier division of the Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL) from the 2008 season and won three VWFL premierships with St Albans and Darebin, in addition to a VFL Women's premiership with Darebin. Her accolades in football include three league best and fairests, state representation on four occasions, best-on-ground in a grand final, and five-time AFLW All-Australian honours.
Libby Birch is an Australian rules footballer who plays for North Melbourne in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She previously played for the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne. She previously played netball and captained Victoria at the National Netball Championships. Birch is currently studying a Physiotherapy degree at La Trobe University. In 2016, Birch switched from netball to Australian rules football and was recruited by the Western Bulldogs as a rookie after having only played football for three months for the Darebin Falcons in the VFL Women's.
VFL Women's (VFLW) is the major state-level women's Australian rules football league in Victoria. The league initially comprised the six premier division clubs and the top four division 1 clubs from the now-defunct Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL), and has since evolved into what is also the second primary competition for AFL Women's (AFLW) clubs in Victoria.
Brooke Lochland is an Australian rules footballer and former speed skater. Lochland currently plays for the Sydney Swans in the AFL Women's (AFLW), having previously played for the Western Bulldogs from 2017 to 2022 season 6. In 2018, she played in the Bulldogs' AFL Women's premiership team, was the AFL Women's leading goalkicker for that season and was named in the 2018 AFL Women's All-Australian team.
In the AFL Women's (AFLW), the Western Bulldogs best and fairest award is awarded to the best and fairest player at the Western Bulldogs during the home-and-away season. The award has been awarded annually since the competition's inaugural season in 2017, and Ellie Blackburn and Emma Kearney were the joint inaugural winners of the award.
Eleanor Brown is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Western Bulldogs in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She played many positions in her junior career in the TAC Cup Girls and VFL Women's before she was drafted by the Bulldogs with the tenth selection in the 2018 AFLW draft. Brown debuted in the opening round of the 2019 season.
Peta Searle is a former Australian rules footballer and coach. Searle was senior coach of the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW) from 2020 to 2021. Searle was previously the first woman appointed as an assistant coach in the Australian Football League when she was joined St Kilda as a development coach in 2014.
The Lambert–Pearce Medal is awarded to the best and fairest player in the VFL Women's (VFLW) during the home-and-away season, as determined by votes cast by the officiating field umpires after each game. It is the most prestigious award for individual players in the VFLW.
