Natalie Coleman is a British chef and winner of the 2013 series of MasterChef . [1] [2] She is now the head chef of The Lamb in London [3] and won Best Pub Chef at the 2022 Great British Pub Awards. [4]

Early life

Coleman grew up in Hackney, east London, [5] and went to Chingford Foundation School, the same school that David Beckham, Harry Kane and Dwight Gayle attended. [6]

Before appearing on series 9 of the BBC cooking show MasterChef she worked as a credit controller and a part-time techno DJ. [7]

Career

Since winning MasterChef, [8] Natalie has worked stages at some of the most well known restaurants in the UK including Le Gavroche (Michel Roux Jr), Viajante (Nuno Mendes), St Johns (Fergus Henderson), The Kitchin (Tom Kitchin), L’enclume (Simon Rogan), The Berkeley Hotel (Marcus Wareing), Midsummer House (Daniel Clifford) and The Hand & Flowers (Tom Kerridge). In 2014 she published her first cookbook titled Winning Recipes: For Every Day. [11]

In May 2019 she was appointed to oversee the menu of a new restaurant Hello Darling which opened next to the Old Vic Theatre in London. [12]

She has been Head Chef at The Oyster Shed in the City of London since November 2021. [13] In 2022 she won Best Pub Chef at the Great British Pub Awards. [14]

In 2023 she won her first AA Rossette for the Oyster Shed followed by Young's Best Food Pub of the year 2023.

MasterChef is a British competitive cooking reality show produced by Endemol Shine UK and Banijay and broadcast in 60 countries around the world. The show initially ran from 1990 to 2001 and was revived in 2005 as MasterChef Goes Large. The revival featured a new format devised by Franc Roddam and John Silver, with Karen Ross producing. In 2008, the name was changed back to MasterChef but the format remained unchanged.

MasterChef: The Professionals is a BBC television competitive cooking show which aired on BBC Two from 2008 to 2019, and on BBC One since 2020. It is a spin-off from the main MasterChef series, for professional working chefs. Introduced in 2008, Gregg Wallace and India Fisher reprised their roles as co-judge and voiceover respectively. Michel Roux Jr., a two-Michelin-star chef, assisted, from 2009, by his sous-chef Monica Galetti. Since 2011, Sean Pertwee has taken over Fisher's role as voiceover.

MasterChef Canada is a Canadian competitive cooking reality show, part of the MasterChef franchise, open to amateur home cooks across Canada.
