Nathan Thomas (born 28 August 1972) is an Australian water polo player who competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics and in the 2004 Summer Olympics. [1] [2] Thomas was the captain of the Australia men's national water polo team in 2004. [3]
Thomas was raised in Tamworth, Australia, where he attended West Tamworth High School. He has since retired from water polo and has focused on other aspects of his life, such as his daughters Nioka and Zoe. [4] His daughter Nioka has since joined UC Irvine Women's Water Polo team in hopes of one day to continue his legacy and represent Australia in the Olympics. [5]
Croatia competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, from 13 to 29 August 2004. This was the nation's fourth consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics since the post-Yugoslav era. Heather Danielle Petri is an American water polo player, who won the silver medal with the US women's national team at the 2000 Summer Olympics, a bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics, a silver medal in Beijing in 2008 and the gold medal in London 2012. She is one of four female players who competed in water polo at four Olympics; and one of two female athletes who won four Olympic medals in water polo. Her position is attacker.
Deborah Kathleen Watson is an Australian former water polo player. She is one of the greatest female water polo players to ever play the game. She won gold medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and the 1986 World Aquatics Championships in Madrid.
The UC Irvine Anteaters are the athletic teams fielded by the University of California, Irvine.
