Nathusius Investments Sp.z o.o. is a media investment company with a focus on diversified b2b publishing and event activities based in Warsaw, Poland.

History

The company was founded in 1994 [1] and originally focussed on publishing licensed special interest magazines. Major titles have been “Moje Mieszkanie [2] (an interior magazine based on a license by German publisher Gruner + Jahr), “Majster” (a do it yourself-title licensed from German Jahreszeiten Verlag) [3] [4] and the knitting magazine “Sandra” (by DPV/BPV). In 1999 all consumer titles were sold, partly to local subsidiaries of the licensors, partly to other publishers like Motorpresse Polska (publisher of the Polish version of “ Auto, Motor und Sport ”).

In 1996 Nathusius Investments started business-to-business publishing with the foundation of the subsidiary Unit Wydawnictwo Informacje Branżowe. [5] This entity published 15 magazines, mainly directed to trade managers in the non-fast-moving consumer goods-sector. [6] The company was sold in the year 2000 to Verlagsgruppe Ebner Ulm (publisher of “WatchTime Magazine”). [7]

Beside publishing business magazines Nathusius Investments in 1998 involved in several internet-only businesses through its subsidiary WebMastersHome Sp. z o.o.. [8] Public attention has been raised by the project “Salon.pl” (run by Shop Online Sp.z o.o., a company owned by WebMastersHome). [9] [10] [11]

Activities today

With the brand “Disco Magic Publishing” Nathusius Investments since 1995 is a representative of foreign record labels and as member of the Polish copyright collection society Stowarzyszenie Autorów ZAiKS (Związek Autorów i Kompozytorów Scenicznych) listed with more than 4.000 songs actually.

Nathusius Investments established several awards, for example the Polish dairy industry award “Lider Forum”. [12] Others are “Top Kupiec” and “Top Sprzedawca”. The company is a member in the Polish Press Publishers Association (Izba Wydawców Prasy - IWP), [13] the International Advertising Association, Polish chapter [14] and at the Polish press auditing association ZKDP (Związek Kontroli Dystrybucji Prasy). [15]

Trams in Warsaw tram system

The Warsaw tram network is a 138-kilometre (86 mi) tram system serving a third of Warsaw, Poland, and serving half the city's population. It operates over 750 cars, and is the second-largest system in the country and one of the biggest in Europe. There are about 25 regular lines, forming a part of the city's integrated public transport system organized by the Warsaw Transport Authority. Since 1994 the system is operated by the municipally-owned company Tramwaje Warszawskie sp. z.o.o.

Polish Social Movement Forward, more usually rendered as Forward Poland is a National Conservative and Eurosceptic political party in Poland. It contended the 2009 European Parliament elections under a common banner with Polish People's Party "Piast". It was formed mainly by former members of the League of Polish Families (LPR), including its leader Janusz Dobrosz.

<i>Forum Mleczarskie</i>

The bi-monthly Forum Mleczarskie Handel is the oldest Polish business magazine about the dairy products trade. The title was the forerunner of a new kind of trade magazines focusing on category managers in the modern fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) wholesale and retail trade in Poland. The title is quoted frequently by other Polish media.

The Polish business title Manager Magazin - Edycja Polska was published under license by the German title Manager Magazin from 2004 to 2008 and was one of two major business magazines in Poland at that time.

The monthly title Strategie - Pismo Dyrektorów Finansowych was a magazine for corporate financial managers in Poland. With a printrun of 10 200 the business-to-business-title was distributed via controlled circulation. The magazine received in May 2012 an award (“Wyróżnienie”) by the Polish Publishers Association at the “GrandFront 2011” competition for its cover design and was closed down shortly after.

Białystok has a wide variety of media outlets serving the city and surrounding region. There are two locally published daily newspapers, Gazeta Współczesna and Kurier Poranny. In addition two national papers have local bureaus. There are a number of national and locally produced television and radio channels available both over-the-air from the nearby RTCN Białystok (Krynice) Mast, the seventh highest structure in Poland, in addition to transmitter sites within the city. There is also a cable television system available within the city. The city has two campus radio stations; Radiosupeł at the Medical University of Białystok and Radio Akadera at the Białystok Technical University.

Dom Prasy was a Polish news corporation of the 1920s and 1930s, as well as a name of the eponymous building in Warsaw, where it had its headquarters. It published numerous daily newspapers and weekly journals. Taken over by the Germans during World War II, the company's assets became the cornerstone of the Nowy Kurier Warszawski propaganda newspaper. After the war the Dom Prasy's assets became the foundation of several modern newspapers, including Życie Warszawy.

Forsal.pl is a Polish language web site covering financial and business news. It has a readership of approximately 500.000 unique visitors per month and has roughly 3 million page views per month. Forsal.pl has been ranked among the 10 most influential business news media outlets in Poland by the Institute of Media Monitoring, both in 2011 and 2012. It was also voted one of the most important investment news sources by members of the Polish Association of Individual Investors in 2012.

Dziennik Gazeta Prawna is a Polish legal and business daily newspaper, headquartered in Warsaw and published from Monday to Friday. The paper focuses on law, taxes and finances. The publisher of DGP is the Polish company Infor Biznes.
