The National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) is the governing body of golf in the Philippines. The NGAP is a member of the International Golf Federation. [1]

The first golf association in the country, the Philippine Amateur Golf Association (PAGA) was formed from the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation (PAAF), when the PAAF's charter was revised through Republic Act No. 3135 [3] which took effect on June 17, 1961. [4] The PAGA held their first organizational meeting on December 27, 1961. [3]

PAGA later became known as the Republic of the Philippines Golf Association (RPGA) in 1970. It was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1991 as the National Golf Association of the Philippines. [3]

Jorge B. Vargas

Jorge Bartolomé Vargas y Celis was a lawyer, diplomat and youth advocate born in Bago, Negros Occidental, Philippines. He graduated valedictorian from Negros Occidental High School in 1909 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1911 and a Bachelor of Law degree with honors in 1914, both from the University of the Philippines. He was a founding member of the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation in 1911 and served in its Executive Committee in 1918. He served as its second Chairman from 1935 to 1955. He was also the first Filipino member of the International Olympic Committee.

Ambrosio Padilla

Ambrosio Bibby Padilla was a Filipino basketball player and an elected member of the Senate of the Philippines. He was one of the most important figures in Asian basketball development.

Tomás "Tommy" L. Manotoc Sr. is a Filipino golfer and former basketball coach. As a basketball coach of several PBA teams, Manotoc won six PBA titles, including a grand slam with the fabled Crispa Redmanizers. Manotoc served as president of the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) from 2012 to 2014. He occasionally writes as a sports columnist for the Philippine Daily Inquirer and was a TV panelist for the PBA coverage from 2000 to 2002.

The team is controlled by the Federation of Ice Hockey League (FIHL) and has been associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The Philippines is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Ranking and have never entered in any World Championship tournaments or at any Olympic Games, but have played in the Challenge Cup of Asia, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia.
