The Federation of Ice Hockey League, Inc. (FIHL), also known as Hockey Philippines, is the national governing body for the sport of ice hockey in the Philippines. It handled the formation of the Philippine national team, together with the acquisition of foreign coaches, creating ice hockey tournaments around the country and partnering with different sponsors including SM Supermalls. The FIHL was formed in February 2015, [2] and was later admitted as an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) on May 20, 2016. [3] [4]

By July 2016, the federation had gained membership in the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC). [5] The FIHL became a voting member of the POC in July 2020. [6]

The Philippines was supposed to enter the inaugural Division IV tournament of the 2020 IIHF World Championships, but the tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2022

The Philippines was supposed to have their World Championship debut, however withdrew from the 2022 IIHF World Championship Division IV due to the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down ice rinks, inhibiting the team's ability to practice.

The Philippines made their World Championship debut at the 2022 IIHF World Championship Division IV in Mongolia, where they defeated all three opponents and were promoted to Division III B.

The Thailand national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Thailand. The team is controlled by the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Thailand is currently ranked at fifty-first in the IIHF World Rankings and have been entered in the World Championship tournaments since 2019 but have not yet participated at any Olympic Games. They have played in the Challenge Cup of Asia, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia.

The IIHF World Ranking is a ranking of the performance of the national ice hockey teams of member countries of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It is based on a formula giving points for each team's placings at IIHF-sanctioned tournaments over the previous four years. The ranking is used to determine seedings and qualification requirements for future IIHF tournaments. The current leader in rankings is Finland in men's play and Canada in women's play.

The South Korean women's national ice hockey team is controlled by the Korea Ice Hockey Association (KIHA). In 2017, the team was promoted to Division IB after winning the Division IIA World Women's Ice Hockey Championships. As of 2022, the team was ranked 18th in the world.

The Icelandic women's national ice hockey team represents Iceland at the International Ice Hockey Federation's World Women's Ice Hockey Championship Division IIB. The women's national team is controlled by Ice Hockey Iceland. As of 2011, Iceland had 71 female players. The Icelandic women's national team is ranked 29th in the world.

The Romanian women's national ice hockey team represents Romania at the International Ice Hockey Federation's IIHF World Women's Championships. The women's national team is controlled by Romanian Ice Hockey Federation. As of 2015, Romania has 53 female players. The Romanian women's national team is no longer ranked in the IIHF since they have not participated since 2011.

The South Africa women's national ice hockey team represents South Africa at the International Ice Hockey Federation's IIHF World Women's Championships. The women's national team is controlled by South African Ice Hockey Association. The South African national team is the only national women's ice hockey team on the entire African continent. The Philippines national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of the Philippines. They are controlled by the Federation of Ice Hockey League (FIHL) and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 20 May 2016. Prior to that period, a national team has played in regional tournaments in Hong Kong since the 2000s.

Ice hockey in the Philippines is a minor but emerging sport.

The Philippine men's national under-20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team of the Philippines. The team is controlled by the Federation of Ice Hockey League (FIHL), an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The team have not entered in any IIHF World U20 Championship.

The 2020 Women's World Ice Hockey Championships were the 22nd such series of tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams were supposed to play at six tiers of competition. However, four of the six tournaments were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The competition also served as qualifications for the 2021 competition and finalized seeding for the 2022 Winter Olympics qualification.

The 2020 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships would have been the 84th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams would've participated in several levels of competition, including the inaugural competition in the newly created Division IV. The competition would also have served as qualifications for division placements in the 2021 competition.

This article lists the performances of each of the 60 national teams which have made at least one appearance in the Ice Hockey World Championships, an annual international men's ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), including the Olympic ice hockey tournament was also considered the World Championship for that year, and was held before the first Ice Hockey World Championship as an individual event in 1930. With the exception between 1940 and 1946, when no championships were held during World War II, nor were held during the Olympic years 1980, 1984, and 1988. In 2020, the IIHF announced that all World Championship tournaments have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions-related issues.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2021 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships</span> International ice hockey tournament

The 2021 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 84th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, only teams in the championship division participated in this year's tournament. The competition served as a qualification tournament for the top (only) division placements in the 2022 competition.

The 2021 IIHF World Championship Division IV was scheduled to be an international ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation.
