Navarajpur is a rural municipality located in the southeastern part of Siraha District, Nepal.

Administration

The Navarajpur Gaunpalika comprises several villages, including Navarajpur, Tamasuiya, Bachahi, Naharniya, Jhajhpatti, Sunderpur, Kursandi, Menha, Devnagar, Phulwariya, Jagatpur, Majhaura, Dhekha, Karmaniya, Bhagwatipur, and Geruwaha.

The office of the local bodies of Navarajpur Gaunpalika is situated in the "Shree Janta Madhyamik Vidyalaya Sonwarsha" school's building.[ citation needed ]

As of 2024, the mayor of this Gaunpalika is Mr. Shiv Udgar Yadav (Shiva).[ citation needed ]

Villages

Navarajpur is a village in the Siraha district of Nepal. The residents of this village have settled in various parts of the country. Among the 200 households, the majority of the population belongs to the Yadav community.[ clarification needed ]

The village has several religious places and temples, including the "Maa Hajari Sthan." The goddess of this temple is worshipped by both the villagers and visitors.[ citation needed ] The nearby village of Bachahi is notable for the Ramjanki Temple, an ancient and significant religious site.[ citation needed ]

In 2017, a girl's hostel was constructed in Navarajpur with support from the Japanese government, aimed at improving access to higher education for female students. [1]

Geruwaha

Nawajpur-01 (Geruwaha) has four gateways to enter the village. Although small, the village is lush with greenery and has extensive land for farming. Most of the residents are engaged in farming, while some hold government positions in various fields. The highest-ranking official from the village is Mr. Rijhan Yadav (DSP), who is also involved in private NGOs.

The villagers have strong faith in traditional healers known as Dhami and Jhakris. It is believed that the village is protected by Dihbar Baba, whose shrine is located on the western border of the village, connected to Tamasuiwa.

Mr. Kashi Yadav and Mr. Chabil Yadav lead two different political parties, the CPN and the Janta Samajwadi Party, respectively. The ward chairman of Nawajpur Ward No. 1 is Mr. Nabin Kumar Yadav, who was elected under the Janta Samajwadi Party Nepal.

Siraha is the headquarters and municipality of Siraha District, a part of Madhesh Province, Nepal. Siraha had a population of 28,442 according to the census of 2011. and a population of 82,531 as of 2015. The current population of Siraha municipality as of census 2022, is 96,543. It has a male population of 47,306 and female population of 49,237. The present mayor of Siraha Municipality is Dr. Nabin Kumar Yadav and Deputy Mayor is Babita Kumari Sah. Both assumed office on 25 May 2022. His predecessor mayor was Asheswor Yadav and the deputy mayor was Dr. Namita Yadav. Both assumed office on 25 September 2017 and their last working day was on 24 May 2022. The town is at 80 metres (260 ft) altitude, 29 kilometres (18 mi) ESE of Janakpur.

A village development committee in Nepal was the lower administrative part of its Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development. Each district had several VDCs, similar to municipalities but with greater public-government interaction and administration. There were 3,157 village development committees in Nepal. Each village development committee was further divided into several wards depending on the population of the district, the average being nine wards.

Yasok is city of Panchthar district. Yasok is the headquarters of Kummayak gaunpalika [rural municipality]. Yasok is also known as Yasok Bazar. Yasok was a village development committee in Panchthar District in Mechi Zone of Limbuwan in Nepal, before 2073 Falgun. Now Yashok is merged with Rani Gaun, Syabarumba, Mangjabung to form Kummayak Gaunpalika. Now Yasok vdc is converted to Kummayak ward no 1. Recently at the time of 2011 Nepal Census it had a total population of 4424 people living 947 individual households where 1952 are male and 2972 are females. In this village development committee 90% of its population are Indigenous Limbu people and rest are others. Kirat is the main religion of those indigenous people. Yasok is Area no 2 of Panchthar District Election committee. Bhishmaraj Angdembe was the winner from this Area on second election of Constituent Assembly. In this village development there are nine Primary Level government and public schools, one private English school, two secondary schools, one higher secondary school and one graduate campus. There are Two locally well-known Kirati temples called Kummayak and Kusayak. In those temple, every three years thousands of pilgrims came to worship. Most of the people's livelihood depend on the seasonal agricultural and now they started farming cash crops and increasing their livelihood stranded. The situation of the people in this place is very poor. Road system is poor, shortage of drinking and poor infrastructures are the main problem in this village development committee.

Jhorahat is a village development committee in Morang District in the Koshi Zone of south-eastern Nepal. According to the most recent administrative division, Jhorahat is in Gramthan Gaunpalika Ward Number-2 of Province Number 1 of Nepal. In the south, it is bordered to Biratnagar metropolitan city, the second largest city of Nepal. At the time of the 2001 Nepal census it had a population of 4844 people with 2457 male population and 2387 female population.

Ramaul is a village in Siraha Municipality in Siraha District in the Madhesh Province of south-eastern Nepal. It is surrounded by Makhanaha from the east side, Basbitta from the north-west side, Manpur from the south-west side, Madar from the south-north side and Kamala River from the west side. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 5000 people living in 400 individual households. Before it was under the Village development committee, of Siraha Nepal in 1991 Nepal census. Now it lies under the Siraha Municipality-3,4, and 5. It is divided into five areas (Tolas): Purab Tola, Uttar Tola, Paschim Tola, Dakshin Tola, and Mansoori Tola. It is a Muslim-dominated village with a population of around 20000-25000. The ward commissioner of Siraha Municipality from Ward No 4 is Mohammad SHAMSHAD ALAM. And the ward commissioner of siraha municipality from ward No.5 is JAGESHWAR YADAV .Both of them took office on 30 May 2022. His predecessor ward commissioner of Siraha Municipality from Ward No 4 was Sheikh Haji Izharul Haque .And From ward No.5 was SULINDRA. Both of them took office on 25 September 2017 and their last date of work was on May 29, 2022.

Raj Kishor Singh is an Indian politician who served as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the state Samajwadi Party from 2002 to 2017. He was a minister for Panchayati raj. Before the government of Mulayam Singh, Mr Singh was also a cabinet minister.

Witch-hunts are still occurring in Nepal in the twenty-first century, and the persecution of marginalised individuals of the community, especially women, still persists. Witchcraft is believed to be the exercise of supernatural powers by witches. Although Nepal does not have a recorded history of systematic witch-hunts, belief in the supernatural, magic, and humans capable of exploiting both to do good or harm is pervasive. In many instances, witch-hunts are simply tribal scapegoating measures carried out to serve ulterior motives, such as getting revenge or winning property disputes.

Mahashila Rural Municipality is a Gaunpalika in Parbat District in Gandaki of Nepal. On 12 March 2017, the government of Nepal implemented a new local administrative structure, with the implementation of the new local governance structure, Village Development Committees have been merged to form Municipalities and Gaunpalikas.

Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi is a Nepalese politician who currently serves as the Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens in Nepal. He is a member of the Janata Samajwadi Party and was appointed to this position in July 2024. He previously served as the Minister for Forests and Environment, where he was involved in environmental protection initiatives.
