The University of New England (UNE) is a private research university in Maine with campuses in Portland and Biddeford,as well as a study abroad campus in Tangier,Morocco. During the 2020 academic year,7,208 students were enrolled in UNE's campus-based and online programs. It traces it historical origins to 1831 when Westbrook Seminary opened on what is now the UNE Portland Campus.
The Androscoggin River is a river in the U.S. states of Maine and New Hampshire,in northern New England. It is 178 miles (286 km) long and joins the Kennebec River at Merrymeeting Bay in Maine before its water empties into the Gulf of Maine on the Atlantic Ocean. Its drainage basin is 3,530 square miles (9,100 km2) in area. The name "Androscoggin" comes from the Eastern Abenaki term Ammoscocongon,which referred to the entire portion of the river north of the Great Falls in Lewiston,Maine. The Anglicization of the Abenaki term is likely an analogical contamination with the colonial governor Edmund Andros.

The CSA comprises four counties in southern Maine. The Portland–South Portland metropolitan New England city and town area is defined on the basis of cities and towns rather than entire counties. It consists of most of Cumberland and York counties plus the town of Durham in Androscoggin County. The Greater Portland area has emerged as an important center for the creative economy,which is also bringing gentrification.

She attended Cape Elizabeth High School and the University of Southern Maine,from which she earned an associate degree in Business Administration.
John Cleveland is an American politician from Maine. Cleveland,a Democrat from Auburn,served as a State Senator from Maine's 15th District,representing much of Androscoggin County,including the population center of Auburn. Cleveland lost his re-election bid in 2014 to Republican Eric Brakey.
The Central Maine Medical Center is a hospital located at 300 Main Street in the city of Lewiston,Maine. It serves most of Androscoggin County,including Lewiston and Auburn,Maine and various small and medium-sized communities. It is designated as a trauma center. The hospital was established in the 1860s and officially incorporated in 1888 by Dr. Edward H. Hill,an alumnus of nearby Bates College and also Harvard Medical School. The hospital is currently a teaching affiliate of Boston University School of Medicine and University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Nathan Libby is an American Democratic politician from Maine. He represented Senate District 21,which serves Lewiston,Maine's second-largest city. Libby grew up in central Maine and attended Bates College where he majored in history and economics. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine and works as an economic development consultant,currently as the president of Community Concepts Finance Corporation. Libby served one term in the Maine House of Representatives from 2012 to 2014 and was first elected to the Maine Senate in 2014. He served as the Senate majority leader from 2018-2020.

Libby was a leader of the 2020 people's veto campaign opposing childhood vaccination laws in Maine and protested public health measures implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19. She was elected to the Maine House in November 2020. Libby was one of seven conservative House Members to be stripped of their committee assignments over refusal to comply with mask mandates in the State House during the COVID-19 pandemic.
