Neil Jones (25 March 1948 - 8 June 2018) was a Welsh guitarist and photographer, known for being the guitarist for Amen Corner and Fair Weather.
Between 1966 and 1969, [1] he was a member of Amen Corner. They had a string of hit songs including a cover of Bend Me, Shape Me, High in the Sky, and (If Paradise Is) Half as Nice.
Between 1970 and 1971, he was a member of Fair Weather, a group that contained Amen Corner members Andy Fairweather Low, Clive Taylor, Blue Weaver, and Dennis Bryon. The band scored a UK Singles Chart Number 6 hit with "Natural Sinner" in 1970. [2] When Fair Weather parted ways, Jones was employed as a photographer, and supplied images for companies such as NME. Previously living in London, England, he returned to South Wales in 1975, and was appointed an official Cardiff City Council photographer. He would capture images of many public figures entering Wales, such as Diana, Princess of Wales, Nelson Mandela, and Spice Girls. He also captured images of musicians, such as David Bowie, Elton John and The Jackson 5.
Jones died on 8 June 2018, aged 70. He died of cancer. [3]

"(If Paradise Is) Half as Nice" is a popular 1968 song originally written by the Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Battisti under the title "Il paradiso". It was first recorded by the Italian singer Ambra Borelli and released as a single through Dischi Ricordi under alias La Ragazza 77. Although her version did not chart, it was later covered by other artists to much success, most notably by Patty Pravo and Amen Corner in 1969.
