Nadesan Krishnasamy Rangasamy is an Indian politician who is the Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Puducherry. He previously served as Chief Minister of Puducherry from 2001 to 2008 as a member of the Indian National Congress and then from 2011 to 2016 as a member of his own party, the All India N.R. Congress. He holds the record of becoming Chief Minister within three months after creating his own party. He also holds concessive record of becoming Chief Minister of Puducherry for fourth time.
Puducherry Lok Sabha constituency covers the entire Union Territory of Puducherry. Pondicherry became a union territory after the implementation of the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution of India in 1962 and changed its name to Puducherry in 2006. This constituency first held elections in 1967 and its first member of parliament (MP) was Thirumudi N. Sethuraman of the Indian National Congress (INC).
