Nerds by Nature is the fifth extended play by electronic duo Pegboard Nerds. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] Nerds by Nature was released on 13 January 2017,by independent electronic music label Monstercat. [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11]
When announcing Nerds by Nature,Odden and Parsberg stated “We are very excited for this release! It went back and forth from being an EP and an album but ultimately we ended up with an EP as we felt that would be a stronger package. We’re stoked to have people finally hear the tracks in their full glory”. [3]
Nerds by Nature gained generally positive reviews with Cameron Sunkel of EDM.com stating "there's perhaps no better time to be a fan,as this EP truly has something to offer everyone". [5] Landon Fleury of YourEDM stated "Though Nerds by Nature contains much of the duo’s highest quality material,this clumsy disorganization makes the EP difficult to enjoy as a solid body of work". [6] Harsh Makwana stated "It’s quite apparent that Nerds By Nature is one heck of a musical ride that you wouldn’t want to miss". [9]
A remix EP was released on 16 May 2017. The EP features 5 remixes from various artists including RIOT,Virtual Riot,Andy C,Gammer,and Quiet Disorder as well as a vocal VIP of Melodymania featuring Anna Yvette as the vocalist. [1] [11]

Kelly Melissa Sweet, known professionally as Haliene, is an American singer of electropop and electronic dance music. She is known for her vocal collaborations with EDM artists Armin van Buuren, Seven Lions, ATB, Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila, Da Tweekaz, and her song with Gareth Emery & Standerwick, "Saving Light", which won the A State of Trance award, "Tune of the Year," by Armin van Buuren.
Pegboard Nerds is a Scandinavian electronic music group, consisting of Norwegian DJ Alexander Odden and Danish DJ Michael Parsberg. The name Pegboard Nerds is an anagram of the duo's surnames, Odden and Parsberg. The duo first met in 2005 and formed the group in 2011. Previously, their records were released under separate projects and both have been producing since the 1990s.

Leusink peaked at #11 on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart in November 2011.
"Saving Light" is a song by English trance producers Gareth Emery and Standerwick, featuring vocals from Haliene. Roxanne Emery, Haliene, Matthew Steeper, and Karra wrote the song. It premiered in June 2016, during the Electric Daisy Carnival music festival and was digitally released on 30 January 2017. "Saving Light" is an uplifting trance song with lyrics about standing up to bullying and supporting victims by being their "saving light". Monstercat released the song as part of an initiative called "Make Trance No. 1 Again". Their goal was to encourage fans to purchase "Saving Light" on Beatport to support Ditch the Label and get the song to the top of the Beatport charts; this was achieved on 16 February 2017.
