The 2011 Pacific Games took place in Nouméa, New Caledonia, from August 27 to September 10, 2011. Nouméa was the 14th host of the Pacific Games. Upon closure of the registration for entries, "some 4,300 athletes" had registered from the twenty-two competing nations, although it was expected that not all would attend.

Archery at the 2011 Pacific Games in Nouméa, New Caledonia was held on 6–9 September 2019.

Rugby union has been a men's medal sport at the South Pacific Games, being played at nine of the first ten competitions. The sport debuted at the inaugural 1963 games where the gold medal was won by the host nation. It was subsequently featured in the following games till the tenth games in 1995.

Beach volleyball at the Pacific Games has been contested since 1999 when the sport was included at the Eleventh South Pacific Games held in Guam. Since that time, Beach volleyball has been one of the core sports of the Pacific Games, required to be included for both men and women in every games. It has also been included in some of the Pacific Mini Games, starting with the seventh edition held in Palau in 2005.

France competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. French athletes have appeared in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era, alongside Australia, Great Britain, Greece, and Switzerland. As Paris will host the 2024 Summer Olympics, France was the penultimate nation to enter the stadium, alongside the United States which will host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, before the host country Japan during the parade of nations at the opening ceremony. Additionally, a French segment was performed in Paris and some pre-recorded events at the closing ceremony as performers did not travel to Tokyo due to the travel restrictions related to the pandemic. However, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo was the only delegation present at the ceremony.

New Caledonia competed at the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa from 7 to 20 July 2019. The country selected 327 athletes to participate in 22 sports at the 2019 games.

Australia is scheduled to compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from 26 July to 11 August 2024. Australian athletes have appeared in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era, alongside France, Great Britain, Greece, and Switzerland. As Brisbane will stage the 2032 Summer Olympics, Australia and the United States, the next nation to host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, will march before the homebound French team enters Place du Trocadéro during the parade of nations segment of the opening ceremony.

Basketball was one of the 24 sports contested at the 2023 Pacific Games held in Honiara, Solomon Islands. The 5x5 format was played at the Friendship Hall from 17–25 November while the 3x3 format took place from 30 November to 2 December at the SIFF Academy.

The 2023 MSG Prime Minister's Cup was held from 8–15 October 2023. New Caledonia hosted the competition with matches being played at the Stade Numa-Daly Magenta in Nouméa and the Stade Yoshida in Koné.

Johann Sidaner is a French football manager. He trained as young football player in FC Nantes until he was 16. Then, he started his coach career as former in USSA Vertou at 22 years old. He enabled this club to access to the National 3 Championship. In 2011, he signed in FC Nantes as pre academy director. In 2016, he enabled his team to win the famous trophy in Mondial Montaigu. In 2019, he was champion of France with his U17 Team by beating Olympique Lyonnais in semi final (3-1) and Lille OSC in final (6-2). Since 2022, he has managed the New Caledonia national team. In December 2023, he won the golden medal during Pacific Games Sol 2023 with the selection A by beating Vanuatu 1-0 and Salomons Island 2-2 (9-8) in front of their public for the final win.
