New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District is a school district headquartered on the property of Manor Oaks School, in New Hyde Park, New York, [1] in the New York City metropolitan area.

Contents

The district includes most of New Hyde Park and most of North New Hyde Park census-designated place. Additionally, it covers a portion of Garden City Park CDP. [2] It is an elementary school district, with all schools covering grades Pre-Kindergarten through 6. [3]

History

In 1985, Guidelines Inc. president Robert F. Savitt argued that the district should become a full Kindergarten through 12 district and take land away from the Sewanhaka Central High School District. [4]

Joseph Rudaitis was superintendent until 2005, when Regina Cohn took the position due to Rudaitis' retirement. [5]
