The New Theatre is a theatre in Temple Bar, Dublin. [2] [3] Founded in 1997, it was closed temporarily during 2007 for renovation works. [1] [4]
It is partly funded by the Arts Council and Dublin City Council, [5] and managed by Anthony Fox. [6]
The theatre hosts works as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival, Dublin Theatre Festival, [7] [8] Dublin Feminist Film Festival, [9] [10] and other events. [11]
A documentary film, The New Theatre, directed by Patrick Clarke was released on Arts & Education platforms across the United States in February, 2019. .: [12]

Francis Edward Ledwidge was an Irish poet from Slane, County Meath, sometimes known as the "poet of the blackbirds". He was later also known as a First World War war poet. He was killed in action at Ypres in 1917.
Bray is a coastal town in north County Wicklow, Ireland. It is situated about twenty kilometres (12 mi) south of Dublin city centre on the east coast. It has a population of 32,600 making it the ninth largest urban area within Ireland. Bray is home to Ardmore Studios, and some light industry is located in the town, with some business and retail parks on its southern periphery. Inchicore is a suburb of Dublin, Ireland. Located approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) west of the city centre, Inchicore was originally a small village separate from Dublin. The village developed around Richmond Barracks and Inchicore railway works, before being incorporated into the expanding city bounds. Anúna is a choral ensemble based in Ireland. The group was founded in 1987 by Irish composer Michael McGlynn under the name An Uaithne, taking the current name in 1991. The group has recorded 17 albums and achieved a high level of international success, including a significant role in Riverdance from 1994 to 1996. Almost all of their repertoire is composed or arranged by McGlynn.
The International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival is a theatrical event held annually in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, during the first two weeks of May. The 19th festival will be held from 2–15 May 2022. Over 50% of the festival's content comes from outside Ireland. The Festival has included productions from countries as diverse as Poland, Germany, Zimbabwe, France, Spain, Australia, South Africa, Venezuela and Canada as well as strong representation from the UK, Ireland and the United States. Festival 2016 saw the 3,500th performance of a Festival production since 2004.

Patrick Clarke is an Irish writer, director, producer and actor. Clarke co-wrote and produced his first feature Beyond the Pale in 1999. Based on actual events, the immigrant drama was a commercial success in Ireland, Australia and the UK and won awards at the Houston and Arizona film festivals (2000). Clarke's performance in Beyond the Pale led to roles in The Magnificent Ambersons for A&E Networks and the award-winning black comedy Stay Until Tomorrow (2004), which was developed through the Sundance Institute.
The Dublin Fringe Festival is an annual curated arts festival in Dublin, Ireland. The festival allows artists to submit their work via an application which is subsequently reviewed by the programme manager. The festival is open to both Irish and international participants.
